Find My app was integrated to HomePod , it used to work initially - however lately I've noticed that I need to ask twice ; as the first response is "so and so does not share their location with you" - on the second try it gives the expected response...hoping it gets fixed...

I asked Siri with my iPhone & iPad in the same room as myself and my HomePod. They all replied back, "blah blah web results."

BUT

the g/f's iPad (also in the same room) instantly told me the correct time. WTF🤷. My voice shouldn't trigger her iDevice, and our voices are typical male/female...

Try imitating each others voice and see what happens.

One thing everyone needs to remember is that the Home Pod (or Siri) can only speak an answer when it finds the response to your question on a source that is either licensed or owned by Apple or that is considered to clearly be within the public domain. If Apple did not do the latter they could be sued by content creators. This is why it will sometimes refer the user to their iPhone where the link to the original information can be provided to the user.

Note the some of the AI chatbot providers are now being sued since they are scraping web content from many sources without providing any financial support to those very same sources of information. If Apple tried that they would probably get sued for copyright violation.

Two days ago, I had a Shortcut on my phone decide to start formatting the date in a different way than I've specified. Oddly, the same Shortcut on my Mac still formats the date correctly. This happened out of the blue. "It was working fine till a while ago".

There have been reports of iPhone alarms suddenly not working. Those users will tell you "It was working fine till a while ago".

Are these recent and sudden failures because of A.I. improvements also? And even if so, these bugs should be limited to the development versions and not pushed out to the current stable release.
Looks like you're agreeing with me 😅

Ridiculous
This is the time to leave the Apple ecosystem,
I have already made plans to replace my home kit cameras/locks/lights/switches with other devices,

I'm not surprised. Like I said to friends who want to buy this thing. Just keep in mind 2 things.
1: The HomePod by itself or in stereo mode sounds beautiful. Specially with the OG one or 2nd gen. Even the mini sounds great.
2: The Software with Siri is a POS. Absolute POS!!! You will love being frustrated if you have several at home. "This is taking too long" "There is a problem with Apple Music" "I didnt' get that" or it just plays whatever instead of what you asked. One or two HomePods will not play when you ask it to play everywhere, all speakers, every room. Just randomly stops with a speaker and then plays again. What an absolute POS software. Sounds wonderful though...when it works.
Agreed!! The software is such a clusterf*ck, and it's terrible Apple never bothered to fix it. My partner and I often laugh at the crap it replies with, when responding to simple requests.

One of the best exchanges involved me asking "play some quick tempo, upbeat music", to which Siri (sarcastically?) responded: "now playing the slow, slow sounds of..." someone or other. 😂

Reminds me of when (with the wife in the car -- she always gets a laugh from Siri) I asked who the Speaker of the House was and Siri let me know we have no speakers in the house. Sheesh...
