The 6 feels just about right to me. It's large, but not crazy. The 6+ is nice, but too large for my use anyway.

I think a 5.0 or 5.2 would have been better.

I have seen lots of female with the 6 aswell and not just the 6+ my wife handles her 6 very well with one hand no problem. I am 6'1 and have above average hands and handle my 6plus very well. But I see your point u prefer a smaller discret phone 5s, but in all honesty the 6 is just .7" bigger than the 5s which is not that big of a deference in my opinion. The 6plus however is a beast of a phone for sure and would not be discret at all.

I had the 6 for a little while before returning it and it wasn't too bad. Using it one handed wasn't impossible but it was cumbersome, the added screen size just wasn't worth the trade off for me. I also preferred the boxy design of the 4/4S/5/5S, it's easier to hold in landscape for video and photo taking (using the + volume button as a shutter) and it gives you more grip when you hold the phone. Also the design of the 5 series is better than for the 6/6 Plus IMO.

I hope they do a nicer job with the 7, I think they took some steps back with the 6/6 Plus.

Best rumor yet!

After a few months with my 6, I would hands down, without question, LOVE to trade it in to get the smaller 4" screen back (with 6 specs). Other than video watching, I find there is simply zero advantage (mostly disadvantages) to the larger screen.

Pretty please.

I really hope this is true. I love the form factor of my 5, I don't want to give it up.

Please.

A smaller 4" iPhone with the same internals of the latest, larger devices would be quite appealing IMO.
But I really doubt they won't handicap it in some way for sake of margins or something, like Samsung does with the mini versions of flagship devices.

Damn i would buy it instantly, really sick of these huge phones...

Well Apple is the only ones with 3.5 and 4inch smartphones now a days nobody else has them. So what are u going to do if Apple doesn't come bring back the 4" iPhone?

Are u serious? Would care to explain the disadvantages of having a bigger screen like the 6?

Stick with the iPhone 5S for a loooooong time.

I have to laugh at how easy it is to generate page views.

Post an outline of a smaller iPhone beside current ones and magically the rumour takes on a life of it's own.

Is 'sketchy' referring to the validity of the rumour or the line drawing? :)

Oh god I hope this one is true. The iPhone 6 is huge to the point of hilarity, and the 6+ just shouldn't even exist.

I'll probably try to dig up a 64GB 5S that's in good shape if/when my 5c dies and Apple doesn't have a suitable replacement.

And why the 6+ should exist? ask the people who are still is waiting for Theres through out the country especially 64 & 128 gb models.

Well u have had the 5s for a long time ok cool.

aint happenin.

The 3.5 inch iPhone is still a very usable device. I'm on an iPhone 4 right now. The screen size is not the problem for me, but it has gotten too slow for my needs. Some apps don't behave properly and consume too much of the CPU and resources, slowing down the experience for all other apps, even when running in the background. So for Apple to continue to offer a current-generation 4 inch phone would be a very smart move. There's definitely a market for a device of that size.

Apple Pay would be the real reason for this.. The only real reason.. Could still be the iPhone 5S but with Apple Pay.. (adding that NFC chip)..
Totally agree, those who have tried ApplePay in stores tend to like it. And in Apps it is fantastic. But a key to getting it accepted in more places is educating existing iPhone 6 community and getting more iPhone 6 and eventually Apple Watches in play. The Apple Watch and iPhone 6 minus would help lead to getting more users.

Also as an entry level phone for kids this would be great.

Seems to me not many people were happy with 4" - there are folk like me who preferred the 3.5, and there are the folk who wanted bigger than 3.5 and still wanted bigger when it went to 4. Therefore I say scrap the 4", make a 3.5" model again!

This might be a good idea if it's going to be cheap enough to mix it with lower end Android phones.

Otherwise it'll be another 5c semi-flop.

If true it would sell too! Many people want a smaller iPhone with better internals.

The point is how Apple will price it? With contracts, this will be next year logistics:
6+S = $299
6+=$199
6S = $199
6 =$99
5S=$0

Where is the place for the new 4" model? And what will it be called?

I agree with u to a certain extent on the design on the 6/6+ the only thing for me is the pertruding camera which is not that big of a deal but other than that I think the 6/6plus is beautiful. But Then again I can't really think of an ugly iPhone all my previous iPhone where beautiful in there time. 2G/3G/3GS/4S/ now the 6+ Never had the 5/5S but still beautiful. I am pretty sure apple will do a better job with 6S/7 though.

Phone sizes

Its makes no sense to abandon the 4" screen, since we've been accustomed to it and the 4/4s screen. They Jumped to high, considering not everyone was asking for a bigger screen. The larger the screen the less Ipads you will sell.... since the 6+ isn't much smaller than an Ipad mini. I love being able to comfortably put my phone in my back pocket with my wallet. I think its a little dumb to market it just to women, some men don't need a big phone to overcompensate.

This would actually be pretty interesting. Personally, I wouldn't do it. Just shrink the bezel on the 4.7 and you could easily have one hand use. My Moto X (1st Gen) is living proof.

Unless you hold the phone in different orientation than the rest of the world, I don't know know your assessment is even valid. The top and bottom bezels have nothing to do with one hand use if the screen size remains the same. If you talked about side bezels, then shrinking 2mm (at most in current iPhone 6) wouldn't help at all.

How about this? Shrink the top bezel and eliminate the home button. That would put it around the Moto X size. It'll love to see what to do with the home button in the iPhone 7, though.

My girlfriend has had to buy a 5s because the 6 is too big for one hand use.

I reckon they are definitely missing out on a market share even though personally it doesn't bother me and I applaud their new iPhone 6 and 6 plus.
