not all bluetooth audio connections are made equally. if products use the built in audio transport protocol in bluetooth then, sure, quality issues. but developers of some DACs send the data using their own codec implementation and by-pass bluetooth audio protocol. I have a small Spout audio amplifier and they rolled their own. I you're talking about wanting cables to avoid any chance of dropouts, well a USB-C to audio dongle for $30 will do 3.5 mm TRS and I guess someone might make an USB-C to XLR or SDI connector for a bit more $$.VGA was obsoleted by better connectors. But we're still using a cable.
I know Bluetooth is supposed to be the answer whenever anyone mentions losing the headphone jack.
Well sorry... I'm not gonna use Bluetooth to connect an iPad to a sound system in a church or other performance venue.
