Skybox Can Predict iPhone Launch Using Satellite Imagery

This will be great for stalkers and pedophiles. If you thought their "Don't Be Evil" mantra was dead before...
 
I see a huge market for decoy trucks, decoy shipping containers,
decoy money transport, decoy whatever is about to 'blow up'.

I look forward to having much higher resolution photos of our farm and forest land as it will let us better manage the land sustainably. I've been using arial photos since the 1980's on our farm and have some from decades before that back to 1939. Getting an overhead view for mapping planning is very helpful for planning out the next several decades of work we'll do as well as looking forward a century to our long term goals. Data is good. Good data is better. Log it.
 
So how much will it cost to bribe the Spacing Guild.. err I mean Google?

I imagine most of the money they will be making will not be in competitive intelligence, but rather companies paying to have their stuff not being watched.

Just wait until they can control the weather...
 
wouldn't it be cheaper to just give one of the huge number of workers at Foxconn a $20 bill and have them tell you when it is going to be shipped and even give you some parts?
 
Ahhh, good to see that Google is distracted and spending loads of money to concern itself with Apple's next iPhone release while Apple is hard at work on the next iPhone release.
 
The question is, how many days in advance can they tell? Everybody knows when Apple is about to launch the next iPhone by the time it's about to launch. If they can tell, say, 2 months in advance, then that's something important.

Ummmmm... Don't Apple announce the iPhone release dates at their launches? They do, I've seen it. Tim Cook stands on a stage and lists all the features and then says how much it's gonna cost and when it will be available.

iPhone 5S was released on Friday Sept 21. iPhone 5 was Friday Sept 20.
Omg iPhone 6 is coming Friday sept 19! amazing. :rolleyes:

And why not time it so that the people coming off of a two year contract can get a new iPhone?

i mean what does it matter when the iPhone ships? It's probably still going to be better than the competition.

"Skybox to Google, Mr X is leaving in his car. Looks like he's headed to the mall. Flood his Android mapping app with targeted advertising!"
 
What a way to promote their business... Hey look, we have these million dollar satellites (or whatever they cost) that we are currently using to predict when the next iPhone is going to launch.

Maybe they could have found something more beneficial to humanity to look at and publicize.
 
So Google, about that spying on people thing... Sure you were reading people's email and all but come on, global CCTV?
