Skylake runs cooler if you didn't know...The throttling issues are due to heat dissipation, not the CPU itself, so Skylake will not have any major effect on that, unless Apple clocks Skylake lower than the current Core M CPU's.

Erh, no. The Skylake TDP is the same as the current set of Core M chips.Skylake runs cooler if you didn't know...
They share the same TDP but the Skylake CPU are able to stay in Turbo Boost longer than the Broadwell equivalent, so in essence it runs cooler.Erh, no. The Skylake TDP is the same as the current set of Core M chips.
yes skylake can use turbo boost longer
since yesterday here in any apple shop the macbook has 20% cut.
so i think in march we will have at least upgrade for 1 mac, the macbook
today or tomorrow we should get the invites for the event right ?
i think the macbook has no reason to be released later than 21 march. all the components are ready to go
All current rMB are 300 off at Best Buy, and none for pickup within 250 miles of my location (between nyc and philly).....something is about to happen I think!
By that logic you'd think Apple's Mac Pro, aimed at a market that requires the latest in computing power, would've been updated in late 2014/2015 after Haswell's launch (Xeon E5 V3)![]()
mac pros components not ready in 2015, i think only this year intel provide xeon chips for mac pro, and i think the gpu.By that logic you'd think Apple's Mac Pro, aimed at a market that requires the latest in computing power, would've been updated in late 2014/2015 after Haswell's launch (Xeon E5 V3)![]()
no way, the skylake offers at least 1h of battery usage more, over 30% perf boost in igpu and usb-c gen 2Haven't been following this thread as of late, but does anyone else think that Apple may skip sky lake and wait for kaby lake for the rMB update?
I mean it makes sense, as Kaby Lake is staying with us until at least the 2H of 2017.
Also for the Rmbp users who will probably see an update in WWDC, won't it suck if kaby lake is released a few weeks later but the Rmbp will have only just got sky lake processors?
I think we'll be seeing new Retina MacBooks today, tentatively based upon this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/4b7kyv/macbook_12_renew/
Basically an Apple Store employee noticed they were out of Retina MacBooks, so went in to their system to order more stock. Model was listed as discontinued, and all other Apple Stores within 250mi of his location were out as well.
Couple this with Best Buy giving deep discounts on the machines, tells me they've depleted the supply chain ahead of today.
I don't know that we'll see anything changed other than the refreshed Skylake CPUs, which may be why there have been no leaks about it, if the casing et al is identical.
it's very possible, it wouldn't take them long in the event to announce new processors in the Macbook, don't know if anything else will be updated in the Macbook tho.

I am thinking a processor update, maybe a facetime camera update, and potentially a rose gold color option would be all we are going to see.
