Colors

Love the alubooks.
Loved the clamshell models.
Love the white macbooks.
Black...not so much.
(Still have an old black powerbook somewhere in the garage: too Darth Vader.

Last I checked, Apple doesn't register its domains through "GoDaddy." e_e

Colors

I think there will be a correlation as such:

MacBook is to iPod Nano as MacBookPro is to iPod Classic. Not that the MB will have all the colors of the Nano, but the MB is the colorful model in the line up. The MBPro will be the subdues cool guy in a sharp suit in the business world. He'll still stand out, but tastefully so.

My compliments to the artistic talents to those who have developed these mock-ups.

Now, put the touchscreen on the back of the LCD and add a regular touchpad back. :)

I think having the touchscreen on the back (as one of Intel's laptop prototypes shows) would make more sense. It would allow you to quickly check things like your calendar or move around iTunes without having to open the machine's lid. Also, if you are giving a presentation in Keynote, you can control it with the lid closed and maintain eye-contact with your audience more effectively then peeking over the screen or looking at the projected image.

What would be truly amazing would be to have the Touchpad apps like calendar, clock, stocks, and calculator to be able to launch without having to power on the machine when the laptop is off or in sleep/hibernate mode .

ive been wanting a black aluminum elnclosure for quite some time, ever since they came out with the silver. I already have a fresh macbook pro, but i cant wait to see the new gear.

If they come out with aluminum, within a while, Color Ware will be doing them in any color you want www.colorwarepc.com . They are already doing the new i-Mac. I had my white mac book done in coffee, my fav beverage. Looks sweet with the white keys. Going to have my i-Mac done in coffee as well as soon as Leopard is released;):apple:

All taken for a ride

Well it appears the link to macmini was nothing more then a promotional scam of some kind. The link is to to a freelance writer in boston's webpage. And it appears the member that shared this link is a writer in Boston.

eh

honestly, i don't think the new touchpad will be ANYTHING like those in the mockup pics. I dont think it will be a screen at all of that sort. that being said, i have no idea what I think it will be =p

Perhaps in addition to the possible release of Leopard on Friday the 26th, might we see new MacBooks or ThinBooks? Or even a new Mac Pro?

i think that would be a little to early, i think more of a slight macbook update small macbook pro update, and leopard.

although I don't think so, i'd really love to see the macbook announcement then...i do have a decent feeling that they are going to release them for christmas this year...so who knows. is it a keynote, btw?

well, that's a little bit of decent news. sounds fairly reliable considering the imac news along with it..but, who knows. i did expect it to be out by christmas anyways, so it has to be revealed SOMETIME soon

Well, the UK refurb store was absolutely flooded with MacBooks last night - more than I've ever seen in there before. Clearing stocks ready for a new model? :)

Then again, there were even more MacBook Pros in there too.

Has to be my favourite so far:D

It seems like the rumours have dried up.
I woud have like to have seen a 13.3 MBP with dedicated graphics but i doubt now if this will be happening.
I think that what we will most likely see is a MB with the Santa Rosa processor and Intel's x3100 graphics. I am also a bit doubtful whether the aluminum casing this is actually going to happen.

The silver with white keyboard like i have seen in some of the pictures is just not a good look in my opinion.

Please Apple, bring us something in the old 12" form factor! My 12" G4 Powerbook is getting old and I don't want anything bigger!
ME TOO!
Despite being drop-kicked several times, this baby still works perfectly. I don't want Leopard, just a smaller Macbook.

THe US refurb store is crammed with MBPs, but absolutely no MBs. Strange.

By the way I'm pretty new here...I've been following these posts because I want my first MB and I can'tttt waittttt. :p It's killing meeee!

Quick question....

Do you think Apple will drop the prices of the MacBooks? Or do what they did with the iMacs...
Like, drop the lower end MacBook, make the current Mid-End the new low-end, and drop the price $100? and then add a new end of MacBook?

I would really like to see a $1,199 MacBook, with a superdrive and 2.2ghz lol

Apparently the new rumored MacBook will see a substantial price drop to continue to compete with new offerings from Dell and HP. I think there may be a new entry level price of $899, and then two more models, as it is now, from $1,099 and $1,199. I also think that like the new iMac, all the MacBook will come with a SuperDrive standard. They may even release a 15'' model, although I happen to like the 13'', it's just the right size for me, it's small and compact yet the screen still has a practical resolution.
