Safari hangs on my iPad air since iOS 8.
Only way to resolve it is to reboot. Then it's very responsive.
But hangs again after when in sleep mode.

Preload Top Hit

Worked for me. Safari is zippy now. It made a huge difference.

Yes! I had a battery, hot 5S and leggy Safari issue. Turning off Spotlight Suggestions also appears to have worked for me as well!

Nice tip! I had Spotlight Suggestions disabled, but with Preload Top Hit now disabled big difference. Thanks.

I might add: It worked fine ever since the GM release, up until 2 days ago when I had to reset the network settings.. this is when it first showed up.

Same problem here

It's certain apps that kill the connection. Anything video-based does it to me: Instagram & YouTube videos.

I tried every solution here except solution #3:
http://ios8tips.com/slow-wifi-ios-8-fix/

Still run into the same issues. I've even been tinkering with the Router settings. Changing the channel that the signal broadcasts on. Switching between the 2.4 and 5G signals. Having the same issues again & again.

In terms of hardware: it's a brand-new iPhone 6. And my router is a Netgear WNDR3400 using WEP encryption.

If I turn the Wi-Fi off for 10 seconds, then flip it back on. It's super fast again.

When I run speed tests, it's either feast or famine:

Gotta be an iOS 8 issue. Hopefully since enough folks are having the same experience there'll be some kind of patch or iOS update soon.

As for me I've decided I've done what I can.

New iPhone 6 here. Wifi is utterly abysmal. Speediest on my new 6 is currently getting .29 Mbps down and the iPad running iOS 7 sitting right next to it is getting 14 Mbps. From my iPhone I can't even play a low quality stream on Rdio. Anyone know if Apple has acknowledged this issue yet?

Had the chance to play around with a few 6's in Apple shop in Lodon, and it was very frustrating browsing with safari over the shops wifi it was really slow. I suppose it could have been the fact that the store was very busy.

Anyone tried wireless cameras?

I've got Epoc Cam and it keeps saying No Network when I am looking for my PC/laptop whereas my iPhone 3GS instantly connects to the PC/laptop.

They are 100% reading because I have reported calendar bug which was related to specific countries and got answer from Apple support that fix is coming

I just reported there but didn't even have an option in their drop down to report as an iOS 8 bug. Great.

I reset network settings per another post and the download speed immediately popped to 12+ Mbps but within minutes it degraded back to under 1 Mbps. This is absolutely unacceptable.

It's also not isolated to one iPhone 6 as I purchased two and both are having the exact same issue.

Seeing the same problem on my IPhone 5s. What's weird is it doesn't seem to affect all apps. I ran the Speedtest app and it reported around 40 Mbps when connected to 2.4 Ghz and almost 80 Mbps when connected to 5 Ghz.

Yet web pages in Safari, downloading mail, loading data in apps are all sluggish and sometimes time out. For example I had the browser based speed test at http://testmy.net result in Safari putting up a "network connection was lost" during the test. Switching to LTE and all these problems go away.

My iPad 2 running iOS 7.1.2 isn't having any problems and when I test it side by side with my iPhone 5s, pages now load faster in Safari on my iPad 2.

I installed the "Ping Analyzer" app and ran ping tests to my router on both my iPad 2 and iPhone 5s. The 5s was dropping 5% off the packets on average on the 2.4 Ghz band.

Something is definately wrong with Wifi in iOS 8.

Wifi is screaming on my iPhone 6. Does this only happen in landscape mode for you?

Just to update I've tested the wireless camera app again, sometimes it shows NO NETWORK in the app and sometimes it attempts to connect to my PC.

My old iPhone 3GS connects easily with no problems.

So it's either an iPhone 6 or iOS 8 problem, this is frustrating... Does anyone think it's the random MAC address feature that's causing this problem?

It's happening in both landscape and portrait mode for me. It's like it just completely drops out at times. Watching speediest activity and it will start at like 6mbps and then just drop out for 10 seconds and pop back on to finish the test at around .4 Mbps. Even loading a basic Google search page takes probably 10 seconds.

I've been having the same issue as described and tried many things to no avail. But I believe to have fixed it completely. I changed router from WEP encryption to WPA2, connection has been rock solid (20 mbps up and down) for about an hour now on all my iOS 8 devices that were having issues (iPad 3, iPhone 5, iPhone 6+). I hope this helps some if not all of you experiencing issues.
