Gen-1 was Samsung et al. It is difficult to believe that Apple hasn't solved the remaining issues to their satisfaction before moving into the market.

I don't know if it's just me, but I have zero desire for a foldable phone. That makes an extra step that I do dozens of times per day, taking it out of my pocket to check something and it becomes a 1-hand operation to 2-hand. No thanks.

If I need a bigger display, I'll pull out my iPad or MacBook Pro.

it will certainly not be for everyone, but why would you not be able to do what you do now with your regular slab phone on a foldable phone? I think it is probably pretty safe to say there is going to be an outer facing screen that will give you access to all your apps just like you would with your phone now. The benefit is if you want to use a bigger screen you can fold it out and basically have an iPad like experience all while not being any thicker than a 17 pro is now.

In the nearly a year that I’ve owned the Galaxy Z Fold 7, not once has the crease bothered me.

I'm the same way about things I'm determined to like; I overlook the weaknesses and imperfections in trade for the big picture of the "thing". I think that's fine.

But the problems, imperfections, weaknesses still exist (visual and tactile crease) and we can't pretend they don't exist.

I don't think it's going to fail, but I'm still not going to be an early adopter. That's partly on Apple, but I'm also am just not an earl adopter, preferring to wait until reviews are out and some months have passed before I join in. Why the rush, and do you actually trust that Apple is going to get the software correct from the start? They have been fiddling with iPad multitasking for years, for example.

The butterfly keyboard was introduced under Cook in 2015, by the way. He never admitted it was an actual problem, either.

It doesn’t matter what they do, over time the crease will get more visible as it’s the nature of folding something over and over again. Now does that bother most people? Probably not. Since a lot of people upgrade their phones on a 24 month cycle anyway (depending on those with contracts and their length) it’s probably not going to matter.

Personally what I’m more interested in is battery life being great and durability of the screens. I want to be able to take a foldable all the same places i take my current slab phone, the beach being one of them.

Every 12 months for me. I cant stand keeping a phone for 2 years lol

Novelty seems to wear off fast.

Anecdotally just the other day someone who was very proud of his galaxy fold 7 was showing me a picture on the front display. I'm like wtf man give me the screen real estate, why do you even have a folding phone and then show me a picture on the regular display?

I think it gets tiring pretty fast switching between modes.

None of the mockups seem to mention that. Size and crease is all I read about.

Indeed. Yet to be seen if over time a crease falls under a cosmetic annoyance and thus won't be covered under warranty.

Most are certified for over 300,000. Oppo Find N6 is for 600,000. The durability is fine.
