Skins are more irritating then there worth IMO. Bubbles form, corners peel up, dirt gets under it... And that's after I installed it perfectly. I normally like BestSkinsEver but no skin made me happy.

Body Guardz for me

Do all of the gelaskins have those weird designs on them?

----------

Also, does anyone know if that ghost armor stuff is smart cover compatible?

I use the smart cover here. No protection on the back. But I put it in a sleeve when I leave the house.

I had a custom Gelaskin on my iPad 2 to use with the smart cover. Turns out it was the same size for the new iPad. I just peeled it off the old one and wrapped up the new iPad. Worked out just fine.

The only thing that needs addressing is the wallpaper. They configure it so the skin you put on the front bezel matches exactly with your photo to use as wallpaper - except that now the resolution is too low. It's my photo, so I can make a larger version of it. It's just a bit of a pain trying to make sure I crop it in just the right way to line up as it did before.

Best skins ever. I use it for protection obviously, but it also makes the iPad a lot easier to grip than the plain aluminum back.

Just got Ghost Armor. So far so good. I will see for long term; my friend who got it for is 2 recommended to me.

I have ordered a BestSkinsEver, after having a good experience with their skins for my MacBook Pro and iPhone 4.

inexpensive too.

Oh, by the way... I initially had a £5.99 "smart cover" off eBay, but once I handled a genuine Apple Smart Cover in the Apple Store, I purchased one. It is MUCH better and while maybe not worth £35, I feel happier having the real deal attached to my new pride and joy. The magnets are stronger, the felt is fluffier, the plastic feels more robust and the metal is aluminium rather than painted ???

I have iCarbon dark wood on my ipad2 and love it. For my new iPad I'm going with a Zagg Leather. I had Ghost Armor full body installed on my husband's and grandkids iPads. To be honest the Ghost Armor is really nice and I was tempted but I wanted something with a design plus I like antiglare screen protectors.

Each setup works well with a smart cover.

Didn't plan on getting a rear case but it looks like I have to as the ipad runs red hot on the left side and I can barely hold it in portrait mode. Need some insulation lol

It's a piece of consumer electronics with a relatively short life, not a Faberge egg. Unless you're going to abuse it I don't really see the need for worrying too much about it.

Resale value when upgrading, for those who do that. Or people who are OCD about their things and don't like scratches.

No, but i wish i had. my iPad 2 got a scratch on the back. i thought the aluminium shell would have been scratch proof. This time round Im going for a book style cover to protect it front and back mainly because im taking it out of the house a lot and it just thrown into my bag with other stuff.

My advice to anyone wanting to go naked on the back is to at least put a sticker so the back doesnt make direct contact with the surface.
