You don't look at videos on vertical screen except on phone
That's not actually correct is it?
If you look around big cities you will see a lot of vertical video, from advertising flatscreens to digital signage to interactive touchscreen kiosks etc

While some people continue to claim that they "hate vertical videos"... when it comes to experimenting with a new format the entertainment, art and advertising industries are forging ahead.
Yes, we "see" the world in landscape mode, but since we walk upright the human form is vertical. Which explains why a lot of fashion video is now increasingly vertical - created for flatscreens in dept stores, airports, exterior vertical LCD screens... and for mobile phones - which we usually hold vertically rather than horizontally, and where a massive amount of video advertising is consumed - by people who don't want to be forced to rotate their phone every time they click a video link.
Many new campaigns are filmed in both formats, landscape & vertical. And vertical video mirrors the magazine format too.
We increasingly get commissioned to create vertical video for left and right of stage in opera & theatre productions. And there's a vertical cinema film festival touring Europe for the last couple of years. So dismissing an aspect ratio as "You don't look at videos on vertical screen except on phone" might be a little simplistic I believe.

My cousin has an off-the-grid cabin in Alaska she wants to sell ... you seem like you might be interested ... should I let her know?
You're being silly again. Why would I be interested in something like that? I am interested in human nature, how technology is changing us and our societies in utopian and dystopian directions. Not interested in Alaska, your cousin, or your cabin - thanks all the same!

sure the snapchat version isn't great, but when TC announces "apple Specs" in spring 2018, this will be the next market for wearables.

I believe Cook said AR was def a frontier Apple was looking into. And so, yes, some sort of glasses would be a natural hardware pairing for AR software. I would guess their debut would mark the official beginning of the "digital zombie" apocalypse.

These seem pretty great. The concept more than the glasses. We have a 1 1/2 year old and Im' constantly telling my wife to put down her phone and watch our baby instead recording. Just enjoy the moment and have the memory.

No. The execution maybe poor but the idea is valid. I promise you these will be something to have, they’ll then improve technology and fit and have things like night vision, infra red etc. etc.
Then they’ll put an Apple logo on and they’ll be a completely new category and magical.

Yes, but they will only be available in square.

Hmm, spend $130 to take shorter and worse quality videos than the phone that is already in my pocket. I don't think the "kids" are going to get behind this.

Couldn't tell if this was a real article about a real product or not. Look so ugly and really don't see the purpose. Just pull your phone out.

I gonna buy this totally like it i can post from my bed to show u my lifestyle guyz
the price it's 2 cheap so i gonna buy a few 4 my friends too..

While this is intended for the Snapchat generation, I can't help but imagine a more mainstream application for something like this.

Google Glass was too early for its time but its time may be coming. A pair of glasses that records everything that you see while wearing them is something that could exist in an era of unlimited storage which cloud computing will inevitably lead to. Artificial intelligence able to recognize and index objects, moments and people would make it possible to search our lives for memories. "Show me that time when I first noticed my wife walking out of Macy's".

There's a privacy concern that is gradually fading away as the generation that Spectacles was built for have grown up expecting cameras everywhere and not only not caring that they're being filmed but craving it. Older folks will hate it but the world will no longer be built for them.
I predict that by the time the technology for that is available, nobody will care about filming everything... or gadgets in general.

Is your comment from 2010? You do know they stopped making Google Glass because it was a collossal failure right?

Funny you think glass isn't the future when you have everyone having to pull out their phones while driving, eating and pretty much doing any sort of activity. With glass everything is hands free. 5 years from now everyone will be wearing them. If you think glass is dumb I'm curious about your thoughts on the (pointless)iwatch

At least they won't make you look like a total cock walking about in them..

Is it April or something?

They didn't TM Snaptacles?

Does anyone have the specs?

I guess these resolve the one-handed typing issue many of their users have undoubtably become accustomed to.

These are obviously toys as the ceo said himself. Quite cheap for getting some footage at a concert or some of the 100 events snapchat seem to cover now. These are not for everyday use. 10 second limit is probably because limited storage and controls. Most likely one button or command. Video or picture is sent to phone for later review, touch up and posting.
