If we can't get any screenshots why the hell did macrumors made this topic

are you all to chicken that apple pulls you by the ear tssss

If you can't see what a company tries to sell in the future than don't support it

Apple is all about being open and blablabla so people should stop being slaves to this NDA crap and link us with screenshots and more info

Or.... should we all go illegal on downloads and if thats the case just say so

be fair or don't start a rumorsite ;)

Well, Apple hasn't exactly been known for being "open". :)

But an NDA is an agreement. People agree to keep something confidential in return for early access. I don't understand how people just ignore the agreement that they chose to accept. If you don't want to keep Apple's work confidential, then just don't join ADC, don't go to WWDC, and don't download stuff that doesn't belong to you.

Why even bother wasting your time with such a useless post? Who needs screenshots? cosmetically, things are going to be practically identical to Leopard. If you think this release is about eye candy, then you clearly haven't read a single thing about it.

I don't care if I don't see a single screenshot - I don't need to know how a QT window looks. I'm much more interested in how Open CL is progressing or how far things have come with the new Finder.

and you can't see that with screenshots or short movies? ;)

No. I don't need to, and it completely violates the NDA. You might not have any respect for that, but your hunger for non-existent new eye candy is hardly a good enough reason for MacRumors to risk heat from the Apple legal team.

Why are you so obsessed with screen shots? Apart from a new QT window (which you've now already seen), everything else looks exactly like it does in Leopard, so fire up your copy of 10.5 and go crazy with cmd+shift+3.

This screenshot seems real to me [URL omitted]

I hope the second button from the right in the overlay controller is (or will be) for changing into a full-featured edit mode.At least there should be some way of enabling it. I would hate to lose that functionality for the sake of over-the-top simplicity.

Or maybe put the editing functionality in another program. iMovie doesn't seem appropriate for many ordinary editing tasks, though.

Well remember the pro apps (Aperture, Final Cut Pro, Logic, Photoshop) are all going to be updated this year, and they you are going to need a Core i7 (and Snow Leopard) to run them anyway near their full potential.

So I would say that the Core i7 is going to be the minimum requirement for Snow Leopard in 12 months time.

No way. Grand Central will take full advantage of the 2008 8-core Mac Pros, for sure (not to mention any other Intel Mac system with > 1 processor core and a graphics card!). There's absolutely no reason to think it wouldn't.

I'm not sure what huge means, but without breaching an NDA let me assure you, SL runs better than L on a Core2Duo MBP. You know, I've heard. From someone. You've probably seen my longer reply on why many machines benefit from SL. The absence of the future tense is not an accident.

Is it possible to state, without breaking the NDA, whether SL will run better on MBs with Intel integrated graphics (GMA950 or X3100)?

Edit: I guess this was answered above by MMK. I will just have to wait for specifics.

I wish I had access to this developer seed to see what all the hype is about. I am interested in the progress being made for SL but I don't think I have enough interest in it to buy it separately, I'll just wait for it to be packed in my next computer.

The graphics card isn't particularly relevant in that case. That's OpenCL.
