go to the corner that shows all your windows at the same time. Now press the ` key. You can use it to cycle through your windows while in expose mode

Everyone probably already knew that, but I just discovered it after spamming my keyboard

That's cool. It's the same as pressing Shift+Tab (reverse direction of pressing Tab).

Why does my get info on Macintosh HD not reflect the change in calculating hard drive space.

I have a 320GB hard drive installed, but this reports it as still being 273.67GB. Exactly the same it did in 10.5.

(Obviously, I know that my drive is not actually 320GB, but I thought under 10.6 it should report as one).

SL reports my SSD as 120.99 GB as it should, but my iPhone still shows up as 14.28 GB in iTunes instead of 16.

I'm not too bothered about the switch from base 2 to 10, but it only works if the software is consistent.

10.6 is newer software than iTunes 8.2.1, this is to be expected. im guessing the new iTunes will have one version with base 10 or just a Snow Leopard version with base 10.

Not sure if its been mentioned yet, but you can resize icons in Finder if you put your mouse pointer over one and do the pinch for zoom movement on your trackpad.

Nice. I don't think that's new though, is it ? I remember doing that on somebody else's Multitouch-Macbook running Leopard. I think it was an option in the Finder preferences, but disabled by default...

I would think that iTunes would determine the volume size through the operating system and not have it's own unique code for reading and calculating this information. I guess it does though.

a couple ive recently found. hopefully these are not repeats

- to Login with multiple accounts without a mouse you can now just press down arrow, instead of tab then down arrow.
- in the Guest account if you write to the home directory it warns you that saved work will be deleted once logged out.

This just started happening to me today; when i do cmd+del it asks me if I'm sure. Is there a way to turn this off? It's really annoying, cmd+del used to be a fast easy way to delete items.

EDIT: I realize that it says This item will be deleted immediately. So now I guess my question is why did the shortcut change to permanently deleting items, and how can I change it back to moving items to the trash?

Looks like you're deleting something over a network. That's usually when that dialog comes up. I haven't had a problem cmd-deleting.

It also occurs if the .Trashes folder is missing.

I would suggest try logging out and back in again as it has cleared that problem up for me in the past.

THx for the help TheSpaz and xUKHCx; logging out/in didn't do anything, but a Restart fixed it. Speaking of which, I don't think anyone has mentioned yet that the Empty button looks different.

Software on Snow Leopard

I've just bought Final Cut Studio 2 and I'm about to upgrade to snow leopard. I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with editing on the new osx?

For that matter I assume all other software works as well on Snow Leopard as it did on previous OSX?

Is anyone's AppleScript folder in the Applications Folder empty too? I still have the folder, but the inside is gone

The folder isn’t there at all for me, but I clean installed. Anyway, it looks like the scripts were moved to /Library/Scripts

Any ideas on how to make Leopard's Weather widget work under Snow Leopard? Yahoo doesn't have weather information for my city...

Same here. I restored mine just because.

But it looks like the contents of the AppleScript folder have been rolled into the AppleScript Editor, which, by the way, was formerly Script Editor.

You don’t have to restore, they’ve just been moved to /Library/Scripts (note: NOT ~/Library/Scripts)

file names can start with a dot

You can now rename files so that the filename begins with a dot. I LOVE this, because you can now make files invisible from within the Finder  I believe that Leopard used to show a dialog indicating that this wasn't possible; now, you just get a warning, but can proceed as you wish...

Possible false alarm: I had used a terminal command to show all invisible files in the Finder. It was then that I was able to add the dot to the filename. Once I re-hid the invisible files, I was no longer able to add the dot. I'm not sure if this was the case in Leopard also.

Wooo! The resume feature has returned to FrontRow from Tiger. Yay, this was probably my biggest complaint from Leopard.

I know it remained for iTunes files, but it disappeared from avi files etc.

Mighty Mouse & Aluminum Keyboard

Now when you have a Mighty Mouse connected, you can still use the trackpad (thank you Apple). Also, when you have an aluminum keyboard connected and you press caps lock on either the MB keyboard or the aluminum keyboard, it also lights up on the other keyboard.

Was it just the mighty mouse that disabled to trackpad? I was using my $20 rocketfish bluetooth mouse and trackpad regularly in Leopard.

No, actually the trackpad always worked with an enabled mighty mouse, that's how it worked for me all the time in Leopard. In its preference pane you could disable trackpad when a mouse was connected. ;)

...my bad. LoL, was there a right click menu on photos in iChat in Leopard?
