Looks like I'm not alone then...

Posted this on the shipping thread...

"Looks like I'm the unlucky one then... UK (Sheffield) here and no sign of Snow Leopard this morning... Was having it delivered to work and now away until Wednesday, so looks like it will be next week before I get to install! Ah well...

Oh, ordered it Monday as it was released...

Not very happy, but what can you do!?! Pay more than the US folk and no guarentee'd delivery! That's life I guess... Ah well, at least I can have a relaxing bank holiday weekend... I'm blaming the Sheffield post rather than Apple, things always seem to take a day longer to arrive here! "

Maybe I ought to change the last bit to say, pay more, pay £10 for delivery then the UK folk will definitely get it on release day! Humph!

looks like the UK has been fleeced again ordered as soon as I was able on the apple site the US were guaranteed to have it by 28th in the UK we only cot shipped by 28th

What utter rubbish. So you expect Apple to GUARANTEE delivery by 28th August throughout the whole World?

Logistically impossible, and never gonna happen with ANY Company with common sense!

Talk about drama and getting things out of proportion.

Its happening in america. They did not pay extra to have it on launch day.

Man this forum is so frustrating with people ALWAYS defending Apple no matter what

You also have to remember the fact games manufacturers manage to get pre-ordered games to customers before or on launch day. Adding to that, we were already paying a premium for Snow Leopard at £25.

Bottom line is Apple should have shipped them from a UK depot not the Netherlands. If they want to ship from the Netherlands they should have made sure UK customers free or premium shipping got it on release date simple as.

No it's not impossible. We know the software's out there. Apple ships the software out to lots of couriers for it to be delivered today. If they can guarantee it in the whole of the US, the UK is small fry.

This isn't Santa Claus... it's just a case of pre-planning the dispatch!

Not here for me today either.

I could trace the courier part of the shipment through bridgepoint(?) which showed it was shipped from the Netherlands to my local sorting office (Abingdon) on the 27th so mine could well be sitting in the Abingdon sorting office!!

Hopefully, when I get home my UTD copy will be waiting. I can't trace that online because I had to send paper copies in.

Damn it!

Ordered up to date and retail from Online Apple Store. Up to date was ordered weeks ago.

Postman has just been.......no package from Apple.

Damn I'm furious!

Anyone in the UK got it today?

If I had known it would not be delivered today, I would have gone to the Birmingham Store

I am sorry mate, probably something to do with the postie stike? I dunno.
For me the postie doesnt come will about 10:30 so thats about 40 minutes now, will report back. Since most people get the most from 10 onwards, tell me if anyone receives a copy, that might be a sign of things to come.

My track says that it reached maccelesfield yesterday so i am hopeful

My postie has been :(

This is odd in itself, as my post usually comes at 3ish in the afternoon!

Apple UK did promise delivery today

My order confirmation from the UK Apple store said

How long will my order take?

We estimate your order to be shipped by By August 28th.

We expect your order will arrive by post to your shipping address on or before .

Maybe it really is going to come seperately than Mr Postman.

There is the caveat afterwards of

"NOTE:: Once your order has dispatched, you will receive a Notification email, which may contain an updated expected delivery date for your order."

but why write the first bit, if you had no intention of delivering?

The postal strike has thrown everything in disarray.

Your probably right.

Time for "Dear Postman Pat and beloved black and white cat - please you would do us the courtesy of delivering your relative, the snowy and blood thirsty leopard?"

UK delivery to arrive today for me

I paid the extra to get the courier service (TNT) and it's "out for delivery" ... yay!

Has anyone who selected RM delivery got it today? Like others, my post has been already, but that was just letters, any parcels get delivered separately by van. My office is not on strike today either (I know the postman).

Mine dispatched yesterday morning at 4am, so I expect it to arrive today (I didn't upgrade to priority shipping) unless Apple really cheaped out and didn't spend the extra 20p for 1st class postage.

Anyway even if they did it should be here by Monday.

The status for my order was similar. Not delivered today though....

Ordered mine on Wednesday, hasn't turned up and didnt get a shipped notification from apple...so I very much doubt it will be delivered today or over the weekend.

I put the blame down to the postal strike, so I'm not that surprised on the no delivery tbh...I sort of expected it. Its common sense.

It will probably arrive on Tuesday, worse case Wednesday.

Too much was riding against it, postal strike, bank holiday... but for £8...I'm not that pissed.

Except it won't as it's a bank holiday
