Postman has been, no SL. All I really want to know is can I install on a formatted drive using the UTD discs!

thats a good idea - return other disc to apple! :D

Might do this. Is the update disc box & barcode exactly the same or does it have any special sticker on it differentiating it?

If you mean you're wanting to return something you bought in the online store to a retail store, you can't do that.

Stuff you buy from a retail store has a UPC barcode on it, stuff from the online store often doesn't.

They operate as separate entities and each has their own returns procedure

Got mine ups dropped it off over an hour ago. Installing right now.

When Leopard was released, most people didn't receive their up-to-date copies until the following week.

I'm sure I got mine the day it was released. :-s Might be my memory though.

Apple didn't guarantee it so I can't bitch. Just wish I'd tried to cancel a day earlier.

Will try to pick it up at the Bullring after work. Doubt anywhere in Wolves will have it.

Yes, the UTD disc is exactly the same as a retail disc which is exactly the same as the SL found on the Mac Box Set. Any SL disc can install onto a blank HD

Looks like I'm not alone then...

Posted this on the shipping thread...

"Looks like I'm the unlucky one then... UK (Sheffield) here and no sign of Snow Leopard this morning... Was having it delivered to work and now away until Wednesday, so looks like it will be next week before I get to install! Ah well...

Oh, ordered it Monday as it was released...

Not very happy, but what can you do!?! Pay more than the US folk and no guarentee'd delivery! That's life I guess... Ah well, at least I can have a relaxing bank holiday weekend... I'm blaming the Sheffield post rather than Apple, things always seem to take a day longer to arrive here! "

Maybe I ought to change the last bit to say, pay more, pay £10 for delivery then the UK folk will definitely get it on release day! Humph!

I'm in Sheffield too and no postie as of 12.36pm. Although down the road in Dronfield where I work the postie is out and about.

Postie been and gone here in Watford, no UTD SL.

Remember ordering the retail copy of Leopard before it came out and it was delivered to me on the morning of the launch, so Apple can definitely do it. Perhaps they pushed the release date forward at the expense of getting the copies distributed to all the local distribution centres in time?

At the end of the day, we'll still be getting it very early Sept which is earlier than we expected a few weeks ago, and I have a feeling it will be a bit of an anti-climax when it's installed anyway

There's only PC World in Wolverhampton and I doubt if they will have it yet. The nearest Apple Premium Reseller is at the Merry Hill Centre, which is where I'm picking mine up from in a half hour. :)

Phoned PC world (UK) - they reckon they're getting copies in store today and I've left my number with them to call me. I have a sneaking suspicion that the call will never come..(but I’ll probably be bombarded with spam texts..)

Signed for post usually has a set "delivery-by" time (noon or 1 or something).

No sign of anything so far for me ... sounds like it will be next week before we get anything.

I was told there was no tracking so its just gone in the normal post system.

I doubt it. Wouldn't like to buy from PC world. Creepy shop!!!!!!
Just bought mine from the apple store in Glasgow. So lucky to have near me!!!!!!

I wouldn't trust PC World either. I spoke to people in my local store asking if they would be getting Snow Leopard in over the weekend, and the man just blankly looked at me. After I told him what it was, he just left and told me someone wold be with me soon. I waited for a good few minutes, but no one showed.

I'm going to be getting my copy from the Apple Store in Glasgow as well.

The PC World at Leicester Fosse Park has a mini Apple Genius Bar in it - I don't often go into PCW so was surprised to see it there.

Not looking good is it?

I suppose the one good thing about it being a Royal Mail delivery rather than a courier is that if it doesn't come today, there's still a chance it might be delivered tomorrow (Saturday) - at least for those of us who are having it delivered to our homes.

So has anyone in the UK who ordered early in the week and went for free delivery (i.e. Royal Mail) actually had theirs turn up today? If so, what was your estimated delivery from Apple (a screen shot would be nice)?

Just picked up a copy of Snow Leopard from KRCS in Leeds. Was going to drive to the Trafford Centre but no need now.

I've still got my UTD disc to arrive.

The Apple site only lists places like Carphone Warehouse, ASDA, Currys and PC World for my area. It's a bit annoying there is no Apple store between Sheffield and Glasgow!

There's an apple store in Leeds if you count that as being on your route
