I know it's an under the hood upgrade but I'd like to see Marble and other themes implemented. Wasn't this promised in OS 8?
Perhaps Microsoft's recent progress on Windows is forcing Apple to rethink it's policy of behind-the-scenes-only for 10.6
Seconded; what are they talking about? The UI is already unified, the whole system already looks like iTunes and Aqua, with the exception of scrollbars and some buttons, has been dead since October 2007. So.. huh?
No, we wouldn't be calling Leopard Javan Tiger. Although I'm not ruling out the awesomeness of that.
People want features + eye candy for one simple reason. They want to feel like they are getting something for their money. Security updates, while vital, don't offer this. Same is true with backdoor updates. However, speed increases will be noticeable for most.
Indeed! Despite this, though, the new iMac will be made entirely from a combination of mercury, uranium, polonium 210 and lead. I can't wait to lick it.
You lick your mac's normally?![]()

Aqua is starting to look dated compared with the likes of the iPhone interface and Windows 7. It needs to be updated for Snow Leopard.

I'll buy it.
Right after the rest of you early adopters suffer the pain of the early bugs!![]()
Apple really should be aware that Marble can be quarried in ways that aren't environmentally sustainable. Depending on the quarry, Marble can also contain high levels of radon as well. They really should stick to highly polished metals or possibly Corian.
I understand that people want to see a difference, and new features. But they come at a price. Stability. Look how awful the Leopard release was - Time Machine wasn't working properly, other issues with AirPort etc. They packed in way too many features.
Now, instead of getting more features - I mean what Leopard offers right now is perfect; Time Machine, Dock etc - I'd rather see these all filed down and perfected along with the over all OS getting efficient and have a much smaller foot print.
To be, that is much more worthy than just some extra features - and it isn't really something that can be done via OS X updates.
the look of the scroll bar should be like iphone safari. it only appears when u need it, den it disappears.

Why?
It's basically Leopard 2.0, not a complete revamp. The name reflects the fact that they've done lots of performance tweaking and added things like Grand Central without really changing the OS noticably. Sure we get better performance and apps run better, but there aren't supposed to be many if any new features which is what i'd expect from a new "cat".
There were no UI changes the last time I checked and there definitely isn't a beta easily available as you suggest.
Don't forget the minature nuclear reactor to replace batteries in the next line of MacBooks. It will help power your house when plugged in.
