Apple watch entered the market late and yet has captured a bigger market share in the wearables market. This shows that Apple Watch is not a flop.

If you look at android watches, the sales are also not good. This is because many people don't feel a need for a smartwatch at the moment. Given time, things will change. The fact that Apple has a good hold of the market, makes them a leader in the wearables market.

It's the top selling Smartwatch. Fitbit is a fitness tracker, not a smartwatch, so it's a different category. Perhaps Apple will create the equivalent of an iPod shuffle entry level Watch that focuses on fitness only to eat Fitbit's lunch.

Maybe the recurring "flop" theme comes from the watch relative to its perceived potential. Kind of like the 2004 Men's Olympic basketball team. For any other country, going to the medal rounds and winning a bronze is pretty awesome. But, the US Men's team had some of the best basketball players in the world. They failed to win gold, and are a bit of a flop relative to their perceived potential.

I think Apple TV is a flop. It does a few cool things well, but it does less core, important things than most of its cheaper competitors. I am a bit surprised that Apple is still trying. Apple TV should have been so much better.

With all the resources and talents Apple had at its disposal, I think people expected the watch to be better.
