You won't get arrested or a record. You won't get sued. If they say anything act dumb and like you never noticed it. That's what I would do anyways.

and live with the guilt for your life? What's happening to modesty and honesty we had a long time ago?

Lucky :)
The only thing that happened to me was getting charged twice for one product.

Do what you think is morally correct.

To OP: Give it back or keep it. It's your life and your consequences. No one is going to share that with you if something goes wrong or right.

J/K! :p

More than likely they will figure it out and reverse the transaction.

But if just leave the funds there you are not at fault.

Or was that a legal lawsuit?

Just checked with a lawyer, and apparently, the company can sue you

of course they can sue. anybody can sue ANYbody! that doesnt mean they have any real ground to stand on

It's best to bring it to their attention. AT&T will definitely catch the error down the road during inventory at the end/first of the month. Regardless that you have a new debit card; you are still responsible for the result of their error. Also, the credit/refund was issued to you via your banking institution and will reflect on your AT&T account; what's to keep them from just charging your AT&T account for the 2nd refund or better yet, freezing your AT&T account, so that you can't use any AT&T phone(s) or go over to VZ or Sprint b/c of the damage to your credit? Just do the right thing, for your peace of mind....:eek::eek:

It wasn't done through the AT & T account. Thats why we had this whole problem in the 1st place. It was just under my debit card. The account is in my fathers name and nothing shows up there at all.

Edit: It was posted on the 23rd. It will probably get corrected at the end of the month.

Oh, well then I'm sure when you look in a couple days, one of those refunds will be gone. This happens all the time.

Edit: Okay you edited after I posted. So, why did you start this thread? :)

its not like you did anything wrong, its their fault, let them deal with it

I wouldnt say anything, they did GIVE it to you, so its yours now

If i was more well off i would of returned it immediately. But with college tuition coming up it was a 50/50 decision. That's ****** to say i know, but I just wanted others opinions on it. I'll probably call them on monday about it to at least inform them.

so young, but you're doing the right thing, and in turn, you'll be rewarded, maybe not with money or an iPhone, but in some way.

:)

I wasn't making any moral judgments on you. I'm saying they'll reverse the charges. You won't have the money.

Without a doubt, keep this money. It's their mistake. If they find it, they find it. Go on with your life. If they don't, consider yourself lucky or consider it a "fine" for not having MMS implemented. Remember, your keeping money from a faceless corporation that regularly steals from their customers (texts costs essentially nothing to send/receive, yet we are still charged for them).

Yeah... I had MMS on my 3 year old POS razer

I agree. They will likely find this extra refund and remove it. I'm about 99% sure. If not, keep it as a punishment for them not doing their due diligence.

Yeah 15c a message without a plan is essentially rediculous.

That option went out the window the moment he made a thread about it.

I work 35 hours a week for £80 and I have to travel for £40+ every other weekend to see my fiancee. I would still give it back!

Well, just remember, it's not your money, so don't go spending it. Even if they don't take it out in the next few days, they could at some later date (I'm not sure how long they have to do that or even if there is a limitation on how long).

I wonder what the limitations are since its actually already posted on my account. Its not pending. I mean how do they just tell my bank "damn we screwed up can we have that 630 back?"

Edt: But no i wasn't going to spend it anyway :D

When I was in high school, I remember I begged my parents for months to buy me a computer. They finally agreed, and I ordered a 386 SX 33Mhz computer, with a floppy and no CD drive, from a company called ExpoTech. That was the best computer I could afford. Well, they ended up sending me a 386 DX 25Mhz, with a floppy AND CD drive. I did the right thing, and called them. They promptly sent me the right computer, but no instructions to send the old one back. I called them again, and they assured me they would send a box to send it back. Long and short is they never did, and then a couple months later, they sent me a check for the full amount of the computer! So i had two computers and a check for 1100$.

My parents didn't let me keep the check, and I felt really good about myself at the time for doing the right thing.

All that being said - to the op: HELL YEAH I'D KEEP THE MONEY! SCREW AT&T! Now, for practical reasons, I'd say leave the money alone for a few months in that account, just in case they reverse the charge or come after you for it, but after that - you're free and clear.
