I was in my local Target this afternoon to pick up some things and asked for the heck of it if they had any 7+'s in stock. Surprisingly they had some Silver 256g 7+'s in stock. Good to know. I'm holding out for black.
Its noteworthy for those wanting to buy one. I don't know why people ask such dumb questions.
It's been mentioned numerous times on many threads that both black models are hard to get.
Oh, and the expected delivery dates posted on the stickies on the first page bear this out too.

I've seen how gross the JB can get. I'd rather have matte black, but canceling and reordering will take too long.
Why Target? I went to an Apple Store Sunday morning and got a matte black Plus easy peasy.
Eastiest/fastest I ever got a Plus. I posted about it and some folks said screw their preorder, hopped down to Apple and got a Plus.
Target would be my last choice, probably easier at Best Buy as well.

The matte black 7+ was surprisingly easy to get. Woke up Sunday morning, reserved one for 11am pickup, and had my phone by 11:30.
That's good. But your story isn't the norm for many, though the matte black is easier to get, of the two.
What would be noteworthy would be when both blacks are plentiful and anyone can walk into an Apple store and get one.

It is a couple of days after release. The Plus is easier at that point to get than the prior years by far.
Your expectations are unrealistic for the jet black.
Search my posts and you'll find me more active in this subforum than you in the past week.
Its noteworthy considering he did see a black one sell first hand at Target, meaning, other Targets may have the black as well for other individuals who are interested. Evidently its not as rare as you say or this thread would be about silver, gold, or rose gold. I guess this basic rationalization escaped you too.

For the heck of it I preordered one from Target. Went in on the 16th at 8am and they didn't even have anyone working in the mobile department. Went to customer service and they said "yeah I think they got them in but they don't open till 11am" Of course I had to be at work so I called on my lunch break and they said they had plenty of 7s but no 7p and didn't expect any till November
What city and state? I've seen 7 Pluses in other colors besides Black. But Matte Black 7+ and JB is hard to get in NYC, DC metro areas.
Black has been readily available at the local Apple Store for the last two days. Friends have simply walked in, bought one, and walked out in minutes. Store traffic almost nonexistent.
Must be nice only P my local Apple store had Sat and Sun were rose gold 32g and today they had none.
What expectations do I state?
