I love my 13" MBP but haven't had much time to really stretch the machines capabilities. For my first Mac this was defiantly the right machine for me.

this is my first mac and I'm in love. I completely nerded out at the store and answered most of the questions for the guy to my dad.

I upgraded from the summer 2008 white macbook (with 1gb ram, 120gb hd, dvd rom)

Likes:
-Great battery
-Finally a back lit keyboard! It was pissing me off that the first gen unibody didnt have it. It should have been standard from day 1.
-The little green LED battery indicator on the side:D
-Super bright screen on max brightness!!!
-Light and sturdy
-Pretty quiet with the stock 160gb hd.

-Free ipod touch that i sold for 210$ :D

Dislikes:
- THE STUPID F:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple: Glossy screen:mad:
-No dedicated microphone port. Id rather not buy a usb adapter or a usb headset. And the iphone earphones suck so im not using those to skype.
-Did i mention the glossy screen? Cmon apple give us matte!
-160gb hd is way to small. When you look at competitors like HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc. The smallest HD they include is 250, maybe 320. 500gb Seagate Momentus here i come:cool:

ive had macbook pro 15.4" santa rosa version for a while... it was a great machine.. but ended up being an overkill for what i actually ended up using it as.. and plus was on the big ish side to carry...
so sold it and replaced it with 13" MBP... and oh boy... i love it...!!
the size is perfect.. and it just feels so good.... could not have done any better than this...!! :D

hi, ive currently got a SR (december 07) white macbook 2.2ghz, thinking about a 13" mbp, my current annoyance with my macbook is that it gets very hot and the fans come on alot, even watching a youtube video causes it to become very hot and the fans to kick in on full blast, do the new mbp's run much cooler?

I have found that with my 2 day old mbp 13, the fans are really quiet with the exception of full blast but the only time that happens is when I set it to that with smc. But the fans don't raise for me when I watch youtube. I have watched top gear episodes and it is fine. The mbp only gets up to 80c.

But overall, I love my mbp! it is perfect! The only slight downfall is that the 160gb stock hard drive is sort of slow and getting full! I put a few videos and my itunes library and now only have 15gb left. But I have remidied this with a wd scorion blue 500gb.

The only time I hear my fans come on is when I play a game using the stock 5400 HDD. The best part is that I can barley even hear them when the rev up and I haven't had the need to use SMC to control my fan speed once.

I got my 13" 2.53 a couple weeks ago and, coming from a Dell XPS M1330, I'm loving it!

The quality of the unibody alone is enough to sell me on it, and most things seem to work so much more smoothly in OS X than in Windows.

My only gripe is that the screen isn't very bright, even on the highest setting.

I am new to mac. I love this thing. The size is great. I take it everywhere with me.

So far, so good though this thing does get very warm. I was a bit concerned about the keyboard lacking Page Up/Page Down & Home/End keys but I'm learning to live with the shortcuts. The trackpad will also take some getting used to.
