So, NEW 13" MBP Owners, how are you liking it?

Wireless card?

OK, I'm just getting used to my MBP and it just recently came to me that I might need one of those wireless cards (through Verizon) for my laptop. I tried using the Mac and iPod in the Phoenix Airport recently and there was way too much trouble getting into that network. By the time it came on, my plane was ready to board. Not sure if it was the poor network or a problem with Airport, but it was pretty useless regardless. No problems at home with wi-fi, nor at our daughter's home, haven't tried other places yet.
And then it dawned on me, I'm not sure there's a slot for such a thing. My spouse's laptop, a PC, of course has one. I have the newer MBP with the firewire and sd slot. Is there an adapter or version of these cards that will work with my Mac? I'm sure there must be, but I've done a search on here and can't find a mention of it. Maybe it is just so basic nobody else is so uninformed to have to ask.

I got my first Mac yesterday, the 2.26 13" MBP, and I am loving it! It has the 9CBD screen and it is beautiful. I was able to install applications like iWork, FireFox, and Adium in minutes. I also copied my entire iTunes library from my PC to my MBP with ease. I am having so much fun! :D

I love it! I'm using it more these days than my '08 Aluminium iMac, and with the option to expand to 8GB RAM and SSD down the line I couldn't be happier, seems me and this MBP are going to have a happy little life together.

You'll have to find a USB stick if you're wanting to use Verizon's 3G network.

Hi

I am loving my new 13" MBP 2.26

I have been running a 15.4"MBP 1.83 Core Duo (My 1st Mac) since April 2006.

I picked up my new MBP at Heathrow airport yesterday on my way to Toronto for bussiness.

I have not left the hotel all day uploading my software and data.

Would not have been allowed to do that at home. "It's just the same as the other one, why are you still playing on that thing".

Well thats what I got last week when I upgraded my 3G Iphone for the 3G S.

2 new apple products in 7 days :)

Can life get better :D

I definitely love my macbook since it is so easy to tether with my iPhone or connect to a wifi network. So seamless!

Now I have two amazing apple products also, the 13" uMBP and iPhone 3GS.

I love my MBP 2.26.. I dropped down in screen size from a 17" (Dell Inspiron) to a 13" MBP, which at first i thought would be an issue but so far i'm loving it. I got used to the smaller screen very quick... If there is one complaint is that i have to turn up my speakers a little louder when playing music. This is with the volume turned all the way up on my Mac.. With my other computer the audio output was just a tad bit louder. I may just buy some new speakers anyway with higher wattage to make up for it.

Other then that i highly recommend getting one :)

Martyn, I just did a search on that term and all I'm coming up with are memory sticks or flash drives, not wireless Internet access cards. I have Verizon and went through their site, but found nothing. Thanks for answering and if you're still there, could you clarify a bit more?

I'm really enjoying my new 2.26ghz/128SSD/2gb. 4gb RAM on the way.
Glad I picked this one up rather than an Air; it doesn't seem as heavy
as I thought it would, the size is perfect for my needs and it is pretty
speedy and responsive.

I love my MBP 13"... it's amazing. The screen is amazingly bright and beautiful. The casing has no flex... at all. I had a white MacBook before this that I thought had a pretty strong case, and this just blew me away. The battery doesn't get the full 7 hours in my tests, but it does hit 5-6 easy. The keyboard, absolutely awesome.

go to the Verizon Wireless website, go to Phones & Accessories, then go to Data Cards & Modems listed under Mobile Broadband Devices. you will see vraious USB modems on the page.

this is assuming you mean Verizon Wireless and not Verizon DSL or FiOS

An amazing machine for me. My first Mac, it's been a month but I felt fluent after a few days. Battery life is insane, I feel bad for all my friends with Windows laptops with awful batteries, cheesy casings, and screens that go negative at an angle.

one thing i really can't stand about the 13" MBP is the really thick black bar around the display. Its even thicker towards the bottom. for that, they could have either increased the resolution or well just trimmed the whole size by a small bit.

I went from the A1181 to the new 13" Pro, its amazing i upgraded to the 4 gigs of ram and i absolutely love it. I agree with the wasted screen space and wish they would have a higher resolution but all in all this is the best bang for the buck in laptops. even for gamers and the fact that it has shared video card ram it still plays amazingly well.

love it!! but a few issues ...

i just got my (very first) 13" uMBP a few days ago!!
I love it! it's soo beautiful and innovative, i can't stop having fun with it!

but there is one issue i have with the mac and firefox 3.5:
whenever i try to dl a addon/extension for firefox 3.5, it won't let me, it keeps giving me download error -228
is anyone else having this problem??

other thatn that, the 13" uMPB is awesome!

anyone if ideas on how to fix this problem will be much appreciated! thanks!

If you don't want to have to plug anything in at all you might want to consider this cool gadget. It is a portable wireless router that creates a personal network for you to connect to using verizon's cell network. Also, you can share your network with a few people if you want to.

Love mine!!! MBP with Intel SSD. VERY fast and portable. Screen in awsome and 7-8 hrs of battery life. WOW...could not be happier.:D

I have to say, the MBP 13.3" is Apple's ace in terms of laptops, no question. I have no doubt it will be Apple's best seller this second half of the year.

Well my 13" MBP is the first mac i have but i sure love it! It's really work fine with everyting.. still ask myself why i didn't buy one a long time ago!

Upgraded from a 13" Unibody Macbook. Overall experience is similar, but I love the improved screen and battery life.

You're lucky, lol, in a hotel all day, peace and quiet to load software and play with your new Mac! Everyone should have that luxury :)

Just recently bought both the 13" and the 15". The 13" for my wife and the 15" for me. I love the 13". It has great graphics and is very portable. My wife won't let me near it. I thought long and hard and went with the 15" because I have a blackbook which is 13".

With all that said, I will say the 13" uMBP is a winner!
