New "stable" build uploaded. Please test. I also enabled webrtc with cam support for those who want to experiment with older chat protocols. Also in this build I have pale moons extensions page working again, and they install. Make sure to use the older releases made for v27.

Thanks for the upload. I have the same outcome over here in Clouded Leopard. Don’t sweat it too much, since I know this is an edge test case.

Posting from 38.9.2 @wicknix and all seems to be well on Macrumors. Do you know of a workaround for an issue I'm having on Github? When I try to download something from any releases page, I just get a spinning wheel.

Hi again,
I still have no copy paste for the address bar. Copy/paste does work in the search bar, and on site text. So it's mostly good, this is only needed for a few conveniences, like comparing a site in Interweb or quickly copying the link into a doc.
One more thing, I think this is a problem in many Firefox-based browsers? You can't default Google search engine; in my testing on a low-end machine, Google is way faster than DDG. May just make Google the home page.

Yeah, the copy/paste is an odd one. Will look in to it. As for google search just use duckduckgo's bang feature. Type: !g search term to get google results. Same for bing !b.

Thanks, good to know. Unfortunately that just gives a Google US address, which is still slow as I need Google AU in Australia for decent speed. Regardless, thanks for all your work. AF is easily my main browser now.

@wicknix tested again the new version. As reported by others it is stable again.

I also figured out the images missing in some of the webpages are WebP format pictures..that are becoming more frequently used recently.

Otherwise it works great!

Yeah i figured that out as well. On the upside... Web pages that use webp will load faster due to missing images. Lol

Just as a reminder, in case some aren't aware... This is not the same as mainline AF. It's quite a bit older source that I used to make this easier to make work on 10.4/10.5. Much like webp, there are other things not yet implemented in this port that are in mainline AF.

I will at some point upload this to github with hopes that somebody will help chip in with patches, updates, etc. If not, there is a good chance that what i uploaded will be the final builds. I just don't have the time to start updating yet another browser. My plate is already full. The hard part is now done. It has updated certs, it builds, and it surfs. Mission accomplished.

Cheers.

@wicknix that would be great, once you will upload, I will ask Riccardo to look into your branch.

Golden scenario is that your patches can be maintained within ArcticFox main/dev tree. Silver is that he can git push some critical features from time to time.

Let's see..in the meantime we can enjoy an almost fast web experience even with my G3!

Cheers.

Firefox and its derivatives don’t use WebKit.
You know I read that and when I went to download FF, it said Mountain Lion was no longer supported. I went ahead and installed Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. So now I have an up to date OS.

Cool.

I have no way to make a 10.4 intel build however. Your best bet for now would be the intel build of TenFourFox or Links2 via rosetta.
Thanks. TenFourFox actually works pretty well but it'd be great to have ArcticFox..
Theoretically would it work if I build from the PPC source / mozconfig you used, on my Macbook?
Are the build steps identical to those of Palemoon?

Both. I have no 10.4 intel install, and if i recall, riccardo and kencu had to make some changes to TFF 45 to get it building / running on intel. I'm guessing similar changes would have to be made for AF to build on Intel 10.4.
