4 - 4.3 would be my perfect phone size. I use my phone for email, web surfing, text, and phone calls. I don't need a monster 4.8" screen that i really need two hands to use. Also, if the software is good it can make a smaller screen feel much better. I mean the current iphone doesn't feel as small as it could since the touch screen is so nice. Personally, the 4s is easier to browse on than my nexus solely b.c I feel like safari on the iphone runs better than chrome on the nexus (with 4.1).

Held a friends One-X a couple of days ago.

I wasn't even close when it came to being able to touch each corner diagonally. That phone is just too big for me.

Not sure they can fit anything larger then 4" without going wider as well as taller, so far from the images we see, looks like it will be 4" but taller, or same size.

I would prefer not to go longer, but prefer the phone to go a little wider, not like the Samsung Note though...

4.3-4.5". If the next iphone is just stretched lengthwise like most sites are reporting, then that would be a turnoff when deciding on my next phone.

I like the current size, anything less then 4 inches would be fine though.

Since moving from the iPhone to a phone with a 4.3inch screen, I've been looking at phones with a 4.6 inch screen enviously.

I would LOVE to get a screen size of 5.0 inches! 4 inches is an improvement to the current 3.5 but still not big enough. MAybe they can reduce the space between the phone itself and the screen so the screen will be bigger without the phone getting too big.

I would like a 4" screen, with that it would not be too large and would still look like a phone. I really hope if they do make a larger screen they do not just make the phone taller. There is a lot of wasted space on the iphone and I hope they move up the speaker and the camera to the very top of the phone and use that space instead of keeping the large bezel.

iPhone 4S - 3.5 inch

HTC One S - 4.3 inch

Galaxy Nexus - 4.65 inch

Galaxy S III - 4.8 inch

Think iPhone 5 needs to be at least 4.3 inch but nothing higher than it.

For 4-inch just seems a like an extremely small bump.

I wonder if that news from last year, will turn out to be true ? There was some news article saying that Apple invested like a billion dollars into LG to manufacture 4.3" screens for a future product.

Whatever Apple sells is my preferred screen size. Right now I think the iPhone 4S is the perfect size. But if the new iPhone is bigger, that will be my preferred choice. I know Apple makes the best decisions and I always trust what they tell me is best.

LOL  There is no way you are serious ? I smell HEAVY sarcasm, at least I hope you are kidding.

I mean, I know this site is full of iSheep, but that would take it to a new level.

S3 is the perfects size.

The 4.5" Samsung GSII Epic 4G Touch was my very limit, but still too big. The GNEX, HOX, and GSII are behemoths.

I thought the Google Nexus S was the most perfectly sized phone ever made. Good screen size, excellent aspect ratio, nice feel in the hand. Looked great too.

I love the size of the current iPhone as just a phone and typing. For other tasks coming from a tablet, it feels cramped. A bigger iPhone doesnt appeal to me.

Off topic here, but some people like their tablets big. I don't, 7 inches is more comfortable. I prefer my devices small. Wheras some like big phones small tablet, and vice versa.

the only way the iphone can regain its place at the top of the phone heap is to come out with a 1080 p screen before everyone else does.

I always said it was funny, in the long run no other phone killed the iphone....

The iphone ended up committing suicide.

Hahaha, oh that's funny. 1080p phone? Completely unnecessary and excessively overkill. Even on a 5" screen, that's 440 ppi. A screen like that would bump production cost through the roof.

iPhone suicide? Then why is it still the top AT&T smart phone? Android phones in general may be outselling the iPhone, but model vs model, the iPhone is still the top selling phone.

The main reason iPhone sales slump is because people start waiting for the next iPhone to come out.

Where's the option for a 4.3" screen?

I currently own the HTC Thunderbolt. The screen is perfect, not too big and not to small, however the phone is bulky as hell. I can't wait to get my first iphone. As long as it's 4G I will buy regardless of screen size. I would prefer a 4.3" screen, though.

What size I want depends on the aspect ratio. If Apple keeps the same 3:2 ratio then I think 4" is a good size. If the aspect ratio changes to 16:9, then I think 4.3" is a better size since 16:9 is much narrower so it won't widen the screen at 4".

That's what the rumors for the new 4" iPhone is doing. It's a 16:9 4" screen. I don't mind 16:9 aspect ratios as long as the screen is 4.3". I've used a few phones that size and they were close to perfect for me. Going larger than 4.3" is starting to become too large for my liking.

I agree. ~4.3" with 16:9 aspect ratio would make the new iphone a S3 killer.

I pray that post was sarcastic because if it isn't we're all doomed.
