Do the old style dock connector plugs fit in the cut-out? That was my only problem with the Apple bumper. Other than that, I love that style of case. The Satin Silver for these right here looks amazing.

Not sure, but the cutout is bigger than the one the Apple bumper has. If you search for Neo Hybrid EX you'll see lots of video reviews showcasing how the bumper looks/fits.

Not using a case as I think it would be a crime to cover up such a beautiful looking phone. Instead I have ordered iWrap full body cover. It covers the front, back, sides, top and bottom of the phone.

I was tied between a few - Otterbox Reflex, few Switcheasy cases and the Speck Candyshell.

I actually ended up ordering an Otterbox defender because it doesn't seem as big as I originally thought... I'm using an LG Voyager with a (very) thick case on it now and measuring it out it'll actually be smaller.

Why? Part of my job entails working in a warehouse moving freight and large boxes. I've bumped / slammed the pocket my phone is in more times than I could count.

Only gripe I had with the Otterbox defender is the cover over the screen. Every single buddy of mine has one and I just feel that this case takes away from the high resolution screen. Just a personal experience and preference!

I had the Otterbox defender and commuter for my iPhone 4. I really liked both but the rubber sticks to my pocket really bad. I cannot decide what case I'm going to get for the 4s. I like how "slick" the candy shell cases are but I may miss the protection of the defender. Any ideas?

LifeProof...

The newer bumpers, the ones redesigned for the verizon phone have a MUCH larger area for the plug. I really doubt you could find a plug that won't fit, but I could be wrong, I can post a picture if you want.

I already ordered for my 4s....also got one for my dad, it is the Case Mate "Tough Case" in black. It's one of those two piece systems with silicon inside and hard ABS plastic on the outside. Wanted something rugged but not TOO bulky like defenders

I drop things a lot. What's the slimmest case I can get away with?

i would say something like the otterbox commuter case or the case i just posted above your post. hybrid style cases have bridged the gap between overly bulky and thin form fitting cases. it won't be the sleekest, but it also won't be the most obese case in the bar. and you won't regret the decision when you drop it on concrete

my current android phone has Casemate's version of the tough case on it. it's saved my ass many times.

I'm sorry, and I know a lot of you are going to thumb me down, but pretty much every case that has been mentioned so far is Hideous. I understand that you want to protect it, and that's great and all, but you're turning your beautiful iPhone 4S into an ugly, bulky, cheap looking piece of crap. Just my 2 cents. Mine will be naked. I've had my 3GS for 2 years and I can honestly say that I have never dropped it. Sure it has a few scratches but that's to be expected.

What about those of you that got the applecare +? Ive always had an otterbox defender with all my phones, but now I think I'm just going to go with a simple bumper + screen protector. Also considering the mophie juice pack plus, anyone have any experience with this case?

I'm sorry, but you sound ignorant. Congratulations, you used one of the typical fallacies in making a point: describing a personal situation. Unfortunately, many of us either don't have the lifestyle or luck to carry on with a phone that is glass on both sides fully naked. You seem not to comprehend the build makeup of the iPhone 4 vs. the 3GS. The latter holds up to everyday bumps a lot better than iPhone 4 and beyond.

Ever heard the phrase "function over form"? Not all of us buy the Iphone 4 because it is an aesthetically pleasing device.

I'm a big fan of Apple design and so don't like to cover it up in generally ugly cases. However, I asked myself the question "What can possibly trump Apple's great design?". The only answer I could think of was nature's design so I whipped up a skin based on some hot-as-**** K-Pop grrls and sent it off to gelaskins. :D

I can guarantee there will not be another iPhone 4S like it in the universe. :p (ok can't guarantee that anymore as I upload the files needed get one made to the group's international fan site :))

Ignorant? Because I said that the cases mentioned are ugly? Umm, I'm pretty sure most would agree. I apologize for mentioning my personal situation... I understand that people like you can't take care of their personal belongings. I fully comprehend the glass front and back are much more fragile than the 3GS casing. I was simply pointing out that I never had a mishap because I am careful. As should everyone with a piece of technology like the iPhone. And yes, I have heard of that "phrase". You're telling me you solely chose the iPhone 4 because of its function and not its aesthetics? What a load of crap. Basically you're saying that you would carry around a turd as long as it does what you want it to do. I don't know if I should feel bad for you, or slap you across the face.

Yes, it is a load of crap for me choosing a phone not based on its looks, but its performance, software, UI, compatibility, iPod function, front facing camera, etc. HOW ABSURD!!.

Also, you are right on! All those who put on a protective case should justifiably be labeled as people who cannot take care of their belongings! You do realize that people commonly get called out on being ignorant when they constantly make assumptions. *hint hint*

I'd predict you'd choose to slap me across the face, you know, like how a bitch would. It would seem fitting.

I appreciate the input. Up until now (and since 98), I've been using cells which are pretty much unbreakable unless you drop them in a pool or run over them with a truck so this is new territory for me.

Concrete and I know each other well!

Are there any with an optional screen cover? Like that could be clipped back if you don't want to use it right then? Or even as a separate piece? I'm mostly expecting to shatter the glass and, also, possibly have the device stepped upon after I've dropped it and not realized I've done so. /accident prone

The size specs are the same as current so why not?

I might get the Griffin Etch with the carbon effect. My friend has one for his '4 and it's really nice. Not sure if it will fit on the 4S though, isn't the mute button position moved slightly.

Need to find out and try and sort one before next week.

Also, is it true the white iPhone 4/4S's are thicker? Would that affect case compatibility?

This is the profile of the case in mind, would the mute switch be OK with the 4S?

I went naked with my 3G for 3+ years. I'm going naked with the 4S too.

Fit, form, and feel are just too nice...

I agree with you about taking a work of art and sheathing it in a rubber cocoon 100%. BUT I also know that I'm paying $400 for something portable literally made out of glass, and I drop things. I drop them a lot. So I went with the Otterbox Defender for 4s. Found a coupon code for 10% off + free shipping to ease the pain. As a side note, my 2+ year old 3GS (no rubber case, just a basic plastic one) is cracked, scratched, and, at least according to Apple resale, worth $0. So I'm just sayin'.
