so who is buying the ipad 3 when it comes out?

Yup, for sure. Money ready - I'll preorder as soon as I'm able and have it shipped to the house like I did for the 4S, that worked well. Getting white to match the phone and probably mid-tier storage option - I'm not sure about a data plan though, rates seem high - I'd probably stick with AT&T since my iPhone is with them
Is anyone able to mimic this picture with their iPad for comparison? I sold mine already.
I never felt the 3GS screen was bad, but once I saw a retina screen then every time I see a non-retina phone then those pixels look like giant tetris blocks. So I have a feeling that everyone sticking with the iPad 2 are going to feel pretty jealous when they see what a difference a retina screen makes on a larger device where pixel density will make a huge difference.
(BTW. Anyone else reading into the "Touch" to be something more? Haptic feedback?)

I had been waiting for the better iPad 3. My wife was eager to get an iPad 2 in the fall, but I said let's wait.
Well, I won a work Costume contest and got myself/us an iPad2.
So, I am waiting until the next release.
I had thought about selling it and then buying the next version: iPad3.
And seeing as it was "all profit" I wouldn't feel horrible. BUT, then I thought about it, my iPad 2 works for us right now. Waiting another year, I can have the top digs then, and rather than sell it, just pass it along to my son, or perhaps parents to use.

Sold my iPad 2 just in time (yesterday) before prices dropped with the news of invites going out.

I'll be getting one! Once the lines die down though. Currently own an iPad 1 and have been waiting to upgrade! Retinas gonna look gorgeous.

I will be def. getting one. Got an Ipad 2 for Xmas and returned it based on the fact that a new one would be coming out within 2-3 months. With all the rumors floating out there about improvements, I haven't seen anything about the possibility of having an sd card slot and/or HDMI output (so don't have to buy the adapter). What are the chances these features might come on the 3?

Wait till the 7th my friend.. then we'll know if its coming - I Just think that apple will focus more on getting rid of cables (streaming movies/pictures and music) instead of all those wires
