Sorry but why do you use the ipad camera. Find it ridiculous, you look ridiculous and the quality is well garbage (even if it is improved, its still going to be rubbish)...

The still camera is not great, but the video camera is fine for what I need. I video my husband giving horse riding lessons. I can go up to his pupil and immediately play back their mistakes, or we all go back to the house and hook it up to our hi-def 52" TV. Either way they never fail to be awed and impressed.
On the other hand, maybe they need to get out more.:D But not everyone is a technogeek , or wants to be.

How long did it take people to get their online orders of the iPad 2? I've never considered it because I figured going to the store within a week of release and picking one up is still faster than ordering online. Not as reliable but I'm pretty confident I'll be able to find one.

Yup. Going to pick it up the Apple store within days of release, hopefully it won't sell out.

Sold my iPad 2 (16gb, white, wifi) to a friend for $400 today.

Look through the threads from last year, they're still here.

For online orders, those who ordered quickly seemed to get their within days; those who waited to order until after trying at an Apple store waiting two or three weeks or more.

Stores seemed to regularly get stock, but not every size/color/type every day; people would line up every morning, fewer ipads available than people who wanted them. Scalpers were a problem at some stores, especially NYC.

Within three or four weeks the supplies started to catch up and they were easier to get.

Ummm... I would actually plan on it selling out. That has been Apple's record for the last few product announcements, and I am willing to bet demand will be high and supplies will be limited for the iPad 3 as well.

That's a big difference for trying your hand at the store before ordering online. Maybe I'll put an order in and cancel it if I manage to get one at the store. I waited in line in NYC last year. Scalpers encompassed over 25% of the line (could be a lot more), and I saw them at the stores for the next week. That's why I hate the whole iPad trademark thing going on in China because I know that will only make the scalpers worse in the US.

I plan on getting the white 32gb wifi, which shouldn't be the most popular model so I'm crossing my fingers for in store availability. I don't want to wait more than a week for shipping.....

will the iPad 3 start at $499? even with the more powerful hardware (new higher resolution display)? Or does this mean a price increase with all the models (16gb, 32gb, 3g, etc)? If so , how much do you think they will start the prices at ?

Keep telling yourself that buddy. I'll be upgrading. I'm not even going to pretend I'm "not going to upgrade". I tell my self that before every iPhone announcement and I end up just lying to myself and preordering it.

LOL, agreed! I've owned both iPads so far, and will be a day 1 iPad 3 owner as well! :D:cool::apple:

I bought mine st best buy. My local store got it on march 11. Selling was to start at 5pm. I git there st three and was about 25th in line inside the store. Got a white 16gb wifi. I had previously sold my ipad1. I plan to do the same this year. I just sold my ipad2 for $450. I'm buying at bb because i can get 18 months to payoff.

I've got an iPad 1 at the moment. If the iPad 3 does have a Retina display then I'm pretty much certain I'll upgrade. Even if it doesn't then I think I'll be mighty tempted to upgrade anyway. I've now got an iPhone 4S and it makes my iPad 1 feel really sluggish.

The Retina display will help best, for me, for reading a newspaper and magazines on it. Currently some smaller text is not clear because of dpi.

I'll be placing my order as soon as its on the apple webpage.

It will be my first iPad and I'll be getting the largest 3G capable one they have. I made the mistake of just getting the stock 128 on my 11" MBA and I've regretted ever since.

I could have put it off a little bit but eh, I've got the money and my silly husband tried to clean the MBA keyboard and now I have to type from an external since it got fried. :( So the iPad is really a must for me since I'm out of town every weekend for work.

I'm getting one. I haven't had an iPad yet so I'm excited! Now that I have a desktop for gaming, I may sell my 2010 MBP after I get the iPad, since it will meet my couch-browsing needs.

Just sold my ipad2 locally for $635. will get the 3 if it's new features are irresistable, hoping for some surprise features.
otherwise I'll get another ipad2, downsize to 16gb from my 32 I had, and will get it at a bargain.

Sold my original iPad two weeks ago. I really miss it, so prolly gonna pre-order (if possible) or maybe wait in line at my local Best Buy. I am super excited for the iPad 3 so gonna get it as soon as possible. Hoping $499 gets me 32GB though, cuz I don't have an extra $100 and 16GB isn't that much space. Hoping for retina and the increased storage. Everything else would be icing on the cake. :D

As long as it has a Retina Display, I'll be taking the plunge & getting my first iPad. I don't care about 3G/LTE as I have an iPhone for browsing when I'm not near WiFi. Plus I live in England where there is no 4G coverage as the spectrum auctions haven't even taken place yet. Hoping Apple will stick a Dual Core A15 in it. I'll be going for a 32GB model.

As has previously been mentioned, I'm hoping Apple will make 32GB the base model so I can save some cash, but either way I'll be going 32GB.

...

Im in it for the 64gb (or 128 if we're in luck) with LTE/4G ... in black, unless they have made the white, with white logo and buttons and other things that are annoying atm.. :)

I have to admit I've had my eye on an iPad for quite some time now. I feel there are definitely times/moments where I thought I could use an iPad over my Macbook Air (especially when I'm lounging on the bed browsing, checking emails, etc.).

At the same time, I fear that's about all I'd be using it for. I don't travel that often, nor would I necessarily need to carry such a device (I have my phone) when on the go on a frequent basis. Just not sure I'm willing to shell out 500+ for what is going to be "luxury" usage; just be to slightly more comfortable than I already am versus using the Air.

I sure am tempted, but can't fully justify it...

Am I the only one in this camp?

4g lte??

I sold my iPad 2 yesterday because of the 4G LTE rumor. I use it mostly for reading books and magazines. Had the black 32gb wi-fi and would like to order a 32gb 4G LTE since our internet sucks here. Retina display would be nice for when I watch movies away from home. I would definitely use the Siri if it's available. A better speaker would be nice.
