I am not the person to objectively discuss that, I know some tech, but next to nothing about these phones. Great to hear the SE's battery life is so awesome. When my finances rebound I'll just nab one and sell the 6s.
They say it's the same A9 processor but I genuinely think there's something else in the equation we ain't aware of.

I just don't understand how the 6S chews through so much battery life compared to the SE with exactly the similar internals. The only difference is the screen being .7" larger... It's beyond me how only that much bigger screen makes such a huge difference.

And I don't have the screen on too bright either...set to 32%

I have the Samsung chip FWIW.

If I turn off low-power mode, battery life drops drastically.

Aside from the battery, everything else with the phone is flawless (to my eye)...there was no way I would return it in the chance of getting one with TSMC chip.

Wasn't going to get caught up with that whole thing...

My SE ends the day at 45-50% battery with maybe 6 hrs usage/10 hours standby. LTE all day, no wifi or 3G. Best battery life I've ever had on an iPhone by far.
That's really good to hear! My 5s can only go to 3G, won't connect to 4G anymore for some reason and I'll get about 4 hours usage out of it before it dies

I'm on 6 right now, so not part of the whole thing either.

Went from the 6S to the SE, and now to the 6S Plus.

Liked the SE, but it's too small for much of what I do on my phone.

If you like your 5s, you'll love the SE. It's very similar but an improvement in so many ways. Far better speed, camera, and battery life. Everything you love is still there, but so many things are better.

Ended up going into town today and picked one up and the difference in speed and battery life is just..wow
Only had it for a few hours but I'm very happy and impressed with it!

Well I've done the dirty deed. I have sold my 6S and got enough to get a SE 64GB. Delivery on Tuesday so using my old 4S in the meantime and loving the small size and throw about ability. Why couldn't they upgrade the 4S with steel bands and glass. Hard knock iPhone :)
Congrats on the purchase!

The screen on SE is so paltry compared my 6s plus in terms of quality but I'm enjoying mine :D despite that

I have the 6S plus and as much as I like it, the size is starting to annoy me. I'd rather have one handed usability over the big screen.

With three months to go, I'm debating on going to a regular 6S or even the SE which seems to be the sweet spot or just hold off till September and upgrade to the smalles version of the 7 available

I also switched but why do you consider it a dirty deed? Do you think it's a bad thing that you switched?

What are the chances of the iPhone SE ever being updated? iPhone SE 2?

I wish I knew. I would love to see Apple continue to make 4" models. I hope this wasn't just a way for them to make up for lackluster S series sales.

Sorry, just a figure of speech :), but the consensus seemed mad to do it if you already have a 6S and taking the hit to get a worse phone. I've sold my 9 month old 6S for the cost of a brand new SE. I'm looking forward to it coming next week. I am currently using an old 4S and apart from the speed it is a great phone, not missed my 6S at all.

I wish they never give up with the 4 inch model, there are still tons of people who still perfer small phones over the large screen phones so there is a huge market for the small phones today ,coming to the se I think it has the iconic design and great battery life which i like the most

Never thought I'll ever even consider doing so but am been getting bugged with 4'7 bulkines in my hands.

It's just something hasn't been feeling right and uncomfortable

The thing which is really bugging me now (after many months) is how my thumb can't reach the rightmost keys 100% of the time with a casual grip of the phone.

Even after nearly 9 months of ownership...really hope Apple commits in a yearly 4" model again.

The 4.7" experiment hasn't completely worked for me, sad to say.

Went from 5 to 5s to 6 to 6S Plus to 6S and now landed at SE.

Made me realise that I was sucked into the Apple marketing machine. I loved the 4/4S and then 5/5S form factor but some reason I convinced myself I needed a 6 in 2014 and then and then made the same mistake in 2015 by getting a 6S Plus. All ok devices but too big for my use case. Plus was great for battery but just felt awkward all the time. Tried to resolve my previous I mistakes by going for a 6S but as soon as I put my hands on a SE in the Apple Store I couldn't see past it. Battery performance and build quality of the 6S is what put me off. After only 2 months the screen and case showed light damage. The battery would be in the 15% range by the end of the day. The SE is just rock solid. It feels much better built, like it was conceived by another era of Apple. The battery is outstanding for a smart phone in any category.

Actually came to the realisation that the sweet spot in the Apple lined up is where they first landed. iPhone 4" and iPad 9.7" are where's its at.

I have been using the 6 since the day it got released. I realised that this size is a bit bigger for me as well but tried to give it a fair usage to see if I can get used to it. Almost 2 years later I can safely say that I've never really fallen in love with the design but have gotten used to the size. I only struggle to use it at times when I'm in bed and trying to use it with one handed. The reachability feature does help but still it's a bit of annoyance.

iPhone started with 3.5" but yes I agree 4" is the perfect size for me as well.

I got my SE today, and loving it. Smaller and lighter, easily one handed. I'm glad I did it. Took a hit of £200 but after nearly 10 months (£20/month) not too bad. You can notice how faster the 6S fingerprint sensor is but it's not a hindrance.

I'm on a 6 (same Touch ID sensor as the SE). The speed does bother me sometimes because I use Apple Pay for literally everything.

I have an SE that I use on my days off in my garden because it fits in my pocket well. It's a 6s in a 5 body.
The fingerprint scanner is slow, but that doesn't bother me at all. Of course it doesn't have 3D touch
and all that, but that doesn't bother me either.
