No plan to upgrade my wifi 64G iPad 2.
() I find the iPad 2 screen resolution perfectly acceptable. Don't plan to do microsurgery using the iPad. iOS won't allow multiple windows on the same screen or true multitasking and even if it did, a 10" screen is no place to do such work and I don't plan to carry around a microscope as an accessory.
() Faster processor and/or more RAM? Again, overkill for my uses, for the tablet form factor, and for the limitations imposed by iOS.
() More storage? I currently use about half of 60 gigs available on my iPad 2. Doubling the storage (as some rumors suggest) wouldn't be a benefit for me.
() Built-in 4G/LTE? Even if that is available, I already have it with a mobile hotspot that supports the iPad as well as my laptop and Kindle Fire.
All in all, I think the iPad 3 may be a step forward for those who try to use the iPad as a laptop replacement. But at least for me it will still fall far short of meeting that requirement. Just too many things it won't do and a form factor that is far too limiting.
So for me, at least, it comes down to spending several hundred dollars (or more) purely for the retina display eye candy. Not tempting.
