I've had similar problems trying to sell my iPhone 3G on ebay. I was expecting it to go for around $200, but somehow it got bidded up to $395. I was shocked but then saw the high bidder had a zero rating and they immediately sent me an email saying they wanted me to ship it to Nigeria for their cousin. Of course I said no international shipping and later that day got an email from ebay saying the person's account had been canceled for suspicious bidding.

Now I just offered a second chance offer to the second highest bidder for $390, but he only has a 2 rating. If that turns out to be a scam too, the third highest bidder for $350 seems more respectable with a 25 rating. Hopefully they actually will pay for the phone and want it shipped to the US. Although I don't understand why someone would pay more than $200 for a two year old iPhone 3G (16GB), although I did jailbreak and unlock it.

I'd advise anyone selling iPhone's on ebay to make clear that you don't ship outside the US and be careful!
