The physics of it all says this is possible.
I came to comment but also will be interested to see those who pile on this misery, and those who defend Apple - just because that’s what they do.
I’m reminded of a joke.
A young lad was worried about his first date. His father, to encourage him, suggested that he say something nice to the young lass to break the ice. The lad came home early and dejected. His father asked him if he took the advice. The lad said “Yes.” “Well then, boy, what did you tell her?” The lad responded,”You don’t sweat much for a fat girl.”

I don’t think this is a sweat thing... I’ve seen this on some of my metal framed cans in the past when the air conditioning is on and I walk into hot humid weather. They literally pull the moisture out of the air, from the temp Differential of the metal. I don’t see this happen on my plastic framed or carbon framed cans; I would imagine this is a design flaw caused by the use of Aluminum.

You’re perspiring wrong ...

How is this news? This happens to any earphones worn for an extended time.

Next version will come with fans or air conditioning!

They shouldn’t even be an article. It’s a side effect to every pair of over the head headphones, it’s not exclusive to the AirPod Max by any means. This is just one of those articles that Macrumors is using as a buffer to post more for clicks and ad revenue.

@jclo

I don’t know how you got this article approved for publishing, but this isn’t a quality piece. You’re better than that.

Meh, I’m still keeping both of my pairs. Gotta wow the Starbucks crowd. Just kidding, I would never drink that trash ;) I do have two pairs though. They’re okay. The build is better than the sound.
Wow, we’re all so impressed that you have 2 pairs of the same product. You are just the coolest 🤣

Hope those $69 earpads are antimicrobial. Nothing like fungus growing into your ears as you listen.

Kidding aside, some condensation/sweat when wearing cans seems pretty natural. Only concern is if it actually is causing some of the features to not work properly as suggested by some.

Since the AirPods Max headphones were released on December 15, there have been a growing number of complaints from MacRumors readers who have run into a problem with condensation.

Some AirPods Max owners who have been wearing their headphones for a prolonged period of time have noticed condensation forming inside the ear cup. From MacRumors reader ssong:The condensation seems to happen regardless of temperature, and most people have reported seeing it after several hours of use, but for some, it shows up within an hour or two. One user has claimed that the condensation has led to issues with Active Noise Cancellation, but this has not been echoed by other AirPods Max owners and no one else has reported problems caused by condensation.

Other AirPods Max owners have said that the same issue has happened with headphones from other brands. From MacRumors reader JBGoode:The AirPods Max are not water resistant and those who are affected by the condensation are concerned about the longevity of the headphones with the water droplets pooling inside. The ear cushions are not affected and remain dry despite the condensation inside the ear cups.

Some AirPods Max owners have returned the headphones, while others have picked up AppleCare+ in case of future problems. Apple has not yet commented on the issue.

Some as in 2 or 3 people?

This is the fanless design flaw.
Waiting for version 2.0 with built-in fans to keep cool. :p
