Aluminium ear cups and low temperatures might be helping with condensation?
100%...there’s a reason aluminium is used for heat sinks.

If you were wearing these in the house and then went outside in the cool/cold, you will get condensation inside and outside....plenty of it.

I mean is that a problem or abnormal for extremely closed headphones like all ANC headphones are or should be.

I always find that any over ear headphones I have used get a bit damp after a few hours, at least these should be quick to dry unlike those without removable ear cups.

Here is a rumour for 2021:

AirPod Pro Max 2nd gen: Now come with fans built in.

TimCook: This year, we did listen to our customers. We have increased the airflow inside the headphones to make sure you never have to take them off. You can feel the light breeze. Its like holidays at the beach, just that you are at your desk. You can even use it with iCloud home. Siri, dry my headphones!💨

Crowd: Geeeeniuuuuus yeaaaaaah. Price 999$ Sold out in the first hour after announcement.

the iPhone 4 effect
Aaah the good old grip of death. Never mattered that all phones did the same thing if you gripped the antenna like that. It became 'fact' the the iPhone 4 was 'faulty'.

Somebody should do an Apple myth busting session on all the 'faults' over the years.

Placing a sheet of Saran wrap or cling wrap over both ears could solve this while having minimal effect on the sound. This could however cause further sweating, so wearing a towel around one's neck might be necessary.

How many people haven’t noticed on other headphones because their ear cups didn’t come off so easily! And what do people expect when the unit is sealed off and there’s a thick chunk of foam sealing off your ears...

Pay $549 + tax for headphones
Discover that a fairly large amount of moisture collects with no effort which may or may not cause a problem
Appreciate that Apple does not have the best history when it comes to detail in their products
Appreciate that Apple will not admit if there really is an issue and could refuse a repair before eventually creating a repair program

I can understand why there are concerns from users of the product. Even though it may be 'normal' for some moisture to collect, this is such a new and very expensive product, early in its life that I would be hesitant to keep or purchase them until enough time passes to ensure they really are fit for purpose at their price point.

Genuinely curious, why don’t you like them? Like, specifically white entails ‘hot garbage’. If you don’t respond, then I just assume your comment is nothing more to jab at the AirPods Max without any validation of why you believe that
You’re not entitled to any validation. People can have an opinion without explaining anything to you. You do realize that, don’t you?

Not to be gross, but some of us have sweaty ears and this happens to any head phone. It's a problem for me, I can only wear over the ear headphones for an hour at most. I have found that a fabric mesh over the cans helps a bit, but never solves the problem.

For a given value of, uh oh...
For what it’s worth, I spent years DJing in clubs n bars and other distortions of the night using sennheiser hd25 mkII headphones - wired I’ll admit.
Things often got sweaty and condensation was a thing, however it never caused a problem - I bought a second pair 10 odd years later after my first ones finally gave up the ghost in the oscillator)
However I can understand that some may have concerns

I think the biggest contributor is the environment and what you’re using the headphones for. If it’s a gym setting environment, you can expect the moisture to be problematic. I would only use mine for an indoor ‘office setting’ or something where it doesn’t require any physical activity that would promote the moisture buildup. But then again, I never really wear my over the headphones for more than an hour either.

I think this is person specific. I have the H95's and wear them for hours and there is never any condensation inside the cups. I think this is more based on how much perspiration each person has.

I must be a sweaty bugger then, this has happened to pretty much every closed-back, over-ear cans I’ve ever owned. Certainly that I can recall. Sony, Bose, B&W, B&O, Parrot, Sennheiser, Beats, the list goes on.

I’m fairly sure, based on previous headphones I’ve owned, the battery becoming useless will happen long before my sweaty lugs create cause for concern :D

I’m reminded of a joke.
A young lad was worried about his first date. His father, to encourage him, suggested that he say something nice to the young lass to break the ice. The lad came home early and dejected. His father asked him if he took the advice. The lad said “Yes.” “Well then, boy, what did you tell her?” The lad responded,”You don’t sweat much for a fat girl.”
Reminds me of another joke: A young man went to his girlfriends father to ask for her hand in marriage. The father gladly agreed but felt compelled to point out that she had acute angina, that he should be aware of before settling down together. The young man replied "Yeah, her t***s aren't bad either!"
