It has been confirmed, my airpods drain battery to zero when not in the case, even when disconnected from all bluetooth devices...

Having the same issue with battery life decline whilst they are in the case. Taking them into the Apple store next week.

Mine were at 100% for both case and pods at 10:30am.
Now the pods are at 100% and the case at 89% So 7 hours of nothing (apart from opening the case a few times) and it's gone down 11%

I did peek after a few hours and the case was at 100% and the pods at 95% so not sure what all that's about.

I've reset them, and this is the first charge from 0% in both the pods and case.

Don't peek, because that is causing the drain, haha

Well.. I saw that after 4 hours it dropped 4%.. surely it can't use much connecting to show you the battery? Perhaps an extra 1%.

I'm trying to figure out if (with all the postings here) what the actual average or if there's a pattern to the battery drop. The actual pods seem to do very well out of the case holding a charge but I am holding back my opinion of the case for now. Great implementation though it's the battery that is confusing :)

Well - it was 89% at 17:30 and it's now 23:30. One peek and it shows me 100% on the pods and 86% on the case so 3% drop in 6 hours.

Same here, the courier came Friday 6th, and they are on their way to Cork, Ireland.
[doublepost=1483800315][/doublepost]Try this (it really kind of works): Don't check the battery. Sound dumb, I know, but always when I use the Battery of the AirPods enough, that by putting them back to the case the amber light goes on and then don't open the lid until I really want to use them again for at least 40 min, the case's Battery hols a lot longer as no Lightning is seen next to the AirPods when opening the Lid. But, just opening the Lid and checking the Battery status forces the AirPods to stay awake and the drain begins.
[doublepost=1483800620][/doublepost]Maybe let's start a little poll: What iPhone do you use? In most reviews the are using an iPhone 7 and have no complains. I use an iPhone 6 and so does my girlfriend and we both have that drain-issue with the same pair of AirPods. So let's hear, what you have got.
My daughter has an iPhone 5, I have a 7plus... she hasn't had the same problems.

Last time I used my pods was last wednesday. And the pods at 100% and the case 53%.

Does it discharge though when you're not using it?

It only uses up battery when I put them back in after usage. If the air pods stay in the case it barely drains at it. Think it drained 10% over like a day and half when I didn't use them at all.

Straight out of the box or after a few charge cycles? Mine drops about 1% an hour which is still almost 5 full days.

pretty much straight out the box. Battery life has been great throughout.

The 5 hours Apple claim with usage on air pods seem about right.

yes - I find the pods are about that.. give or take and depends on if you use it for calls.

I don't know if things are worth swapping out.. 1% drop every hour doesn't feel that bad but other people seem to be getting better. Unless the amount of BT devices in range its paired to matters (I assume they are off though in the case)

replacement AirPods arrive today... stand by for incoming once i get a chance to test them :)

Still waiting for mine. So what are you experiencing with your new pair?
these seem fine!! still need to do a couple of charge cycles to finally be able to put this behind me... but definitely not whizzing through the case battery...

Nice! This is great news. I'm still missing mine. Apple received them last Monday in Ireland but since then I haven't heard anything. How long did it take in your case?

I have ordered a replacement as well and they should be here in two weeks. Will let you know how they go :)

So after a few charge cycles, my AirPods and case seem to have steady stated somewhat. When I first got them, the case was dropping 20-30% over a few hours with fully charged AirPods in them. My last charge was 3 days ago, and with no airpod use, the case was at 84% 3 full days later. I consider this reasonable, though not perfect.
