IF a “premium” tier of Apple Intelligence eventually comes down the line, it is going to be *different* than everything that was shown at WWDC. Apple explicitly stated this was all free of charge (ignore cost of entry by purchasing Apple device).
Macrumors, somehow, has turned this into “the stuff we saw is going to cost money through a subscription”. That is plainly not true.
Again I’ll circle back to reading comprehension.
Yeah I don't disagree, I think Apple would have a difficult time charging for what they showed off at WWDC. That's why I'm a bit confused because Gurman is saying, at least according to MR: "Apple's long-term plan is to launch something like "Apple Intelligence+," with extra features that users pay monthly fees to access." That would imply that "Apple Intelligence+, or whatever premium name/service it ends up being in the future, is what was being discussed as a paid subscription, and not anything announced At WWDC. I skimmed through the comments and didn't see many, if any, that thought Apple would specifically charge for WWDC stuff, most assume it would be some sort of future premium tier.
Edit: You know part of the problem is MacRumors clickbaity title, "Some" AI features being charged is leading readers to think they are talking about the WWDC announcements, but in the article it's clarified that these are future and most likely premium features. The title should be less sensationalistic and maybe read with the words future and premium tier. But I'll bet that a large proportion of MR readers don't even read the article and just go off and pontificate based on the article title.
