Iphone 4S wifi problem

i am having difficult time using my home airport extreme base station. all my other mac products (iMac, MBP, iPad 2) works perfectly but somehow iPhone 4S is not connecting with the wifi properly. It's extremely sloooow. I did all the restore and soft+hard resets on both devices and still no solution. anyone know how to fix this issue. it's taking 20+ minutes each time i call applecare and really frustrated about this whole thing. and i know it's not the phone because it works fine with other wifi portals.

How exactly can you compare two different people, from two different areas, connecting to two different servers and say there is an improvement? I could show you the same exact phone connecting to two different servers and one is faster.

Two different people comparing themselves to themselves with different devices.

At the University of CT, which is obviously loaded with smartphones, I was getting ~6mps down and 1.8mps up this afternoon.
Now I'm at my home in rural NE CT and I'm getting 10.89mps down and 3.23mps up!! I'm pretty happy :)

I'm not getting very spectacular improvements. From 1mbps on AT&T with my 4 to 3mbps now on my 4S.

Amazing that a 200% increase in speed isn't "spectacular" to you.

I'll agree that 3 mbps is much slower than what I'm getting, but you were getting 1 just a couple of days ago!

I just got 8.87 down in Baltimore :-O

Just adding my results. No noticeable speed difference from 4 to 4S. Still 1-2 down, 1 up. Same on both devices. I have used the coverage maps and tried in multiple locations in South Denver. Same everywhere, we are definitely in HSPA+ zone.

I am starting to wonder if AT&T is not properly switching people to HSPA+ data plans even though mine does specifically say "Data Unlimited for iPhone4S". Is there any way to know for sure you are on an HSPA+ connection?

The data plans are the same, trust me. It all just depends on the load of your connected tower and how much backhaul fiber has been wired to it.

No fair, I always get like 1 to 3mbps in downtown Seattle! On both my 4 and 4S (GSM of course).

:(

Weird! Downtown I USUALLY get 4-6 during the day and 7-9 during the evening. I live on 23rd and Madison and there I get 6-8 all hours.

I got 5.70 Mbps down with 1.16 Mbps up and 125ms. Definitely better than the old 3G.

Yeah. Connecticut seems pretty well covered by AT&T. I see people complain about AT&T all the time online, but it's great everywhere I go in CT. It's always been much faster than the other carriers. Hell, my parents live in the middle of nowhere CT and I even get very good AT&T speeds at their place too. BTW: GO UCONN!!! Andre Drummond's gonna tear it up!

To those not noticing that much of a speed increase. The ATT speed you do obtain, how fast is that say for downloading a web page or some other data demand.

And how do those speeds compare to Edge speeds say if your iPhone was on T-Mobile when it comes to data demand? Is Edge intolerable?

I have ATT with an Iphone 4, not a 4S:

I live about an hour away from Harrisburg, PA and I usually get anywhere from 3-6 Mbps. I upgraded from the iPhone 4, and I have noticed it go over 6 mbps but it now seems to stay up around the 5-6 Mbps.

Dearborn / Detroit speeds

I'm not seeing the speed increase in the Dearborn (Detroit, MI) area. Anyone around here getting the speed let me know where I can go try it!

I don't think I've got over 2 Mbps much at all since I got the 4s. I've been ver 2 Mbps twice and max was 2.7 (and my upload was ultra slow at that point).

Not Impressed, I already get these kind of speeds!

The speeds listed don't seem that much faster than my iPhone 4 as I regularly get speeds in the high 3-5+ Mbps range at home. I would be excited if people where reporting speeds in the 10+ range.

Was surprised to hit 9.33 MB last night in downtown Portland, OR. Never seen it that high on my HTC Inspire.

Speed is NOTHING without reception.
Friend's 4S gets same speed as me due to 1 bar of 3G.
