If there was still a downvote button, I am sure I'd get a few..

The issue isn't whether or not there are alternatives or if it's only affecting X percent, etc. Ultimately - you want a message to go through and not have to worry if it actually MADE it to the recipient. At the end of the day - that's all that matters. The piece of mind that you click send on one end and it arrives at the other.

So while this isn't WW3 - it's enough to warrant being annoyed and frustrated.

I would assume they are doing background work for the new ecosystem of iMessage to rule them all Apple devices.

Typical...

The new iPhone isn't even out yet and Apple is experiencing another iCloud/iMessage issue within a week... The rest of the week is not looking good at all...

Dear iCustomers,

We hope you've been enjoying your stay with us.

Please continue to ignore the fact that our services bear no benefits to outweigh their drawbacks.

Yours sincerely,

iApple

Seems to be working much better now. My last few messages have gone through and been received no problem.

I understand that people get annoyed about things like this, but stuff happens. Sometimes my cellphone signal drops, or my cable goes out, or the electricity goes out. It's an inconvenience, yes, but nothing is perfect.

Whaha relax dude, it's a minor outage, every service has that

It's not just one minor outage. It's everything about all these iSyncing services of Apple of the last few years. There have been many other glitches, some of them major.

I never got on board with any of Apple's wireless syncing services, and I keep being proved smart again and again.

This has been messing with my whole day.

My issue:
I send a message. I don't stare at every message to confirm it's sent. I look back at the phone an hour later, wondering where my reply is, and realize it never sent. So I send as text (now that I know the problem), but some of the folks I'm messaging don't know the issue, or the temporary work-around.

Tip: Hold down on a text while it is sending and choose "Send as Text Message." Problem solved.

I had a little outage late last week. Has anyone had problems sending iMessages from the computer to someone's iPhone? Usually my friend could get my iMessages when I sent them from my Mac, but lately he hasn't been getting them. Any suggestions?

Same Old

This sounds like the norm for imessage. I turned the service off a long time ago because it was too unreliable and I couldn't find any advantage over a regular text.

Weird, mine was totally broken earlier. I switched settings to allow text messaging when iMessage is unavailable and was able to send a text. After 1 text iMessage started working again (only with one contact -- still not working with another recipient).

So as a non-iphone user (till fri), when stuff like this happens does it show up as sent? or delievered on the other persons device (like bbm?) and they just never get the message?

It seems like almost every month there's an imessage issue, any of you guys disable it?

My 3GS kept alternating to text messages all day. I figured it was just At&t's service being a problem again but I've moved to areas with great signal or Wifi and still seem to have issues when it comes to imessages. I kind of wish Apple would implement some sort of error sound for when a message fails to send as I have a habit of sending a message and locking my phone.

Permanent non-working iMessage ie

For the people out there that experience this every day, have you previously had your iPhone jailbroken? I have this issue with my old 3GS that my girlfriend has, that iMessage (and all push services in general) won't work at all from and to her iPhone, and the only viable answer to it was that a previous jailbreak has ****ed up something with the ID (UDID maybe?!) and that I could restore it with the original SIM card inserted and then it "should" work again, but hey, I don't have that SIM card anymore, and it is a real hassle to go thru all that, and possibly having to manually put everything back in there... Anyone has another (or the same) issue/answer/solution? Thank you, Andreas
