I remember facing the same problem with my iPhone 6 with the initial release of iOS 9. Ever since 9.1, I have not faced the problem.

My 6s went black and unresponsive. I had to hold power and home button to restart it. Hasn't happened since.

Yeah, much better to buy a Windows box and be so inundated with issues that you don't even know where to start complaining... :p

I've probably only charged my iPad Pro twice since I got it but no issues for me so far. However, I did a clean setup rather than using iCloud backup in case that is the root cause of the issue.

Are you comparing a Windows "box" (computer? surface? -- which is not a "box") to an iPad pro?

Do you even know what you bought or what a "windows box" is?

Bummer...!

At least you'd rather do the force restart over a restore..

Least your apps stay.

("Its a 1st gen,, there's bound to be glitches")

What issues do you have with OS X? I live in a windows world and I run 3 Macs all with 10.11 and I have Zero issues, and they run a wide variety of software including Adobe CC and multiple windows VM's.

It's some better with el capitan, but I get apps crashing, lagging, stuck apps from the app store constantly. I am running an ssd with 16gb memory, it was far worse on the spinner and el capitan IS better but waiting for the second year to get something that will actually run and then starting it all over the next version is ridiculous. The next version will be new, buggy, then the second release will be better but still not ready for prime time. I hardly use the mac unless I have to, thinking about doing a clean install of 10 and running it.

What problems are you having with windows 10? Everyone I know runs it and it's pretty much problem free.

Like the iPad 3rd Gen which overheated and lived for 7 months?

Apple should outsource their software work, they certainly have concepts but their software development seems to suck more by the day (and not just development, testing, and the rest of the process)

I agree 100%. I think Cook is more worried about his bonus than anything.

Much as I prefer OSX over Windows, I’d have to agree.

Yep, I prefer the ui and I have a lot of apps but that is not what makes or breaks it. It's sad, I hate to see it happening. I am not a brand loyalist, I am a me loyalist.

Gen 2 people, always wait for Gen 2.

P.S - What happened to the first post on the thread which had the Heath Ledger image?

That's great advice when it comes to Apple products. I'm patiently waiting to see that advice in action with the Apple Watch 2 and 2016 rMB.

UPDATE: Before I tried setting it up as a new device, I charged it to 100% again to see if the problem re-occurs. It did NOT. So, it only happened the first time. Btw, the first time I used the 10V(older iPad) charger. Second time was the 12V that came with the iPad pro.

Second UPDATE: Nope, it happened again after I left it plugged in little longer. So, I tried the factory reset and set it up as new device(no iCloud restore). It works now! If you guys have this problem, just set it up as a new device, then restore whatever you need to later.

Yeah, it's hitting me. Both times I've plugged my iPad Pro (128 GB) in to charge overnight, come the morning it's frozen (home button or sleep button do nothing), and I have to hard restart it.

Did you restore from a backup or setup as new?

Its a pain in the butt, but its worth it to start fresh and set up as a new device. I used to have issues with restores from previous devices all the time, but I never had a problem with any device, using a fresh start.

Keep telling yourself that, I am the only one here with osx and I have more problems than all of the windows 10 boxes together. Windows is getting better and apple getting worse, the bad thing is it will be a couple of years before I change computers.

Have El Cap on five machines. Zero issues. iOS 9.1 on three devices. No issues. I suspect most people have a similar experience.

Just one of the reasons why I will never be an early adopter of new Apple tech. I would be extremely annoyed to spend that sort of money and experience issues with something as basic as charging.

That's super cute. You know they will fix this next iOS update, right?

True for me a well. In fact, I have had all sorts of Windows machines over the years too, and didn't have too many problems with those either.

I can see a bad device once, on rare occasion, but when people are exchanging the same device 6 times, then the problem is with them, not the device. It seems "problems" only seem to follow certain people

Really, then you must never use your contacts because under iOS 9, displayed contact groups were hosed for EVERYONE. It would show all groups instead of just the ones you've selected, and still won't show them alphabetically. Me? My bluetooth is completely and unpredictably messed up with 9.1. It was perfect before iOS 9.0. My iPhone is sluggish. The "issues" go on and on with iOS 9.

Same with Yosemite and El Cap. It used to be that Apple could release a fairly stable OS. Now, early updaters can't wait for the next .1 update. Issues with Apple's OS's seem to be proportional to the amount of "features" they add. Back in the day of a lean OS, issues were few. Since Windows was more feature rich than OSX, it had more problems. Now the scales are tipped the other way.

I suspect people have issues and don't really realize it since they aren't showstoppers. Having been in the IT business (Apple AND PC) since the mid 80's, I can say "show me a person who claims they have no computer issues and I'll show you a liar". :)

Spread the Apple religion man! We need to celebrate it when Apple is hoovering up all the mobile profits as though WE made it happen!

Uh, no... Contacts works as expected here, including correct alphabetizing. Bluetooth works perfectly as well across multiple devices. And my phone is definitely not sluggish. If you're having problems then there's something wrong with your device.

"I can say "show me a person who claims they have no computer issues and I'll show you a liar".

And to that I can say anyone who would say such a thing with incomplete information and claims to be speaking for EVERYONE is simply ignorant.
