The people are charging it wrong! It clearly needs to be charged using renewable energy, coal energy won't do it! Coal energy causes dirty energy buildup on the screen, that is why it is dark, it can only be cleared using the hard reboot.
Welcome to Tim Cook's Apple.
It Just Works is a thing of the past.
Aren't you still in the 14 days return window?Mine died yesterday. $300 for a device swap.
This just proves that it doesn't matter who makes the product. When the company release a brand new product, it will have it's share of problems. Surface Book has software problems too. This is why it's better to wait a few months for companies to iron out the problems.
Yes. Just work died with Steve.

A growing number of users on the Apple Support Communities, MacRumors discussion forums and social media have reported issues with the iPad Pro becoming unresponsive after being charged for a lengthy amount of time, forcing affected users to perform a hard restart to turn the device back on.

MacRumors forum member "BizzaroClark" claims that, on multiple occasions, his iPad Pro has "appeared frozen" and "will not wake" after being charged. After hard resetting the iPad Pro, he said the device has 100% battery life. Dozens of users have shared similar experiences over the past five days.Apple blog Mac Kung Fu pointed us towards Apple Support Communities and Reddit topics about the issue with nearly 5,000 views and 200 comments combined, indicating the problem is rather widespread. iPad Pro user "darkfire.shadows" shared his experience in the Apple Support Communities:MacRumors confirmed the issue has affected one of our iPad Pros since last Wednesday.
The issue has affected both 32GB and 128GB iPad Pros on iOS 9.1, including Wi-Fi and LTE models. It remains unclear if the problem is rooted in hardware or software, but some users speculate that restoring from an iCloud backup during setup may be contributing to the freezing issues.
Apple's support team has provided customers with mixed solutions, ranging from restoring the iPad to factory settings using iTunes to force restarting the device by holding down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously for at least ten seconds, until an Apple logo appears on the screen.
Last month, we reported that some iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6 users have experienced similar issues with their smartphones randomly powering off, even when left unattended and with sufficient battery power, indicating this could be a broader iOS 9 issue. Apple has not officially commented on the matter.

Umm . . . AntennaGate? MobileMe? iOS 2 and 5? OS X Leopard and the first 3 versions of Snow Leopard?Yes. Just work died with Steve.
Innovation in TC world is make it bigger or make it smaller and he can't get that right.
Gen 2 people, always wait for Gen 2.
meh, ill wait for the iPad pro 2
I can't believe after ALL THESE YEARS, we have to use the product "from new" to get the damn thing working right.
Yeezus Apple, get that fundamental things RIGHT!
Ok, I can confirm that this has happened to me also *AND* I used the iCloud restore. I'm going to try setting it up as a new iPad(no iCloud restore) and see if the problem is fixed.
I have no issues with mine, I set it up as a new device.
Typical deal? No more typical than downplaying the issues that people experience, chalking it up to whiners, trolls, and drama queens even though Apple later acknowledges that it is an issue and releases a subsequent update to address it.Typical deal where a very small but vocal group experiences an issue and suddenly people believe it's a far bigger problem than it really is. Happens all the time and generally less than 1% of users actually see the problem.
It is not exclusively tied to iCloud restored iPads...I set up as new and I am still having this problem.

I've probably only charged my iPad Pro twice since I got it but no issues for me so far. However, I did a clean setup rather than using iCloud backup in case that is the root cause of the issue.
This happened to me the other day with my iPhone 6s Plus and it caused me to be late to work since the alarm never went off. When my wife woke me up, I checked my phone. The screen was black and the device was unresponsive. I thought maybe there was an issue with the charging cable and assumed the battery died overnight, so I plugged in a separate cable - nothing. Plugged the same cables into my wife's iPhone 5, and the phone vibrated and indicated it was charging. Did a hard reset on it as a last ditch effort and fortunately it powered on ... with 100% battery life. I was pretty mad because this is already the third iPhone 6s Plus I've owned. The other two had backlight display issues. This one has the same backlight issues as the others but I've just decided to live with it for now.
Then you should *never* buy a product that requires any type of power!I would be extremely annoyed to spend that sort of money and experience issues with something as basic as charging.
