Not true and depends. As I said, this happened to me last year and then delayed by a week. It changed from launch day to a week later.
You ordered from Apple? You got release day date when you ordered and then Apple delayed it a week?

1st I have ever heard of Apple doing that.

Apple still says “preparing to ship,” but it left the warehouse yesterday and ison its way, according UPS.

I’m sure a lot of orders are like this.

If I recall, UPS’ Time-In-Transit (TnT) for shipments exported from that CN postal code and send Expedited (service level 67) is 3 business days. If so, I’d reasonably expect that sometime late day Wednesday into early morning Thursday (in Asia or late evening Tuesday US time) we might expect to see more “origin” scans indicating actual receipt of the package in the UPS system.

But with a shipment of THIS size and scope, guaranteed that Apple and UPS have special systems, agreements and processes specifically in place for this shipment alone, that wouldn’t otherwise apply to any other ordinary UPS expedited package coming from CN.

My shipping changed from arriving September 27 - October x, to arriving September 22nd.

I had assumed that would happen

What I’m not sure of is how many of those scans are what they call “logic” scans and which ones (if any) are physical scans.

Many package scans are logic scans .. meaning for example, if your package is small and therefore to better ensure no damage, it’s scanned and then put into a larger shipping bag. When full, THAT bag is now scanned into the system.. by extension, by logic, every package that the employee scanned into it, will now ALSO show a scan - under the logic that wherever that bag goes- so does everything inside of it..

but.. occasionally, a package maybe scanned into the bag, but accidentally doesn’t physically get into the bag… until an exception scan is applied, it’s going to continue to show scan after scan as the bag moves along.

coming back to the scan history here above, I’ll bet that these are all logic scans and the only one which maybe a physical might be the 9/16 @ 1140 scan.. the next physical will probably be in SDF/ONT/ANC or one of the other gateways where UPS does their inbound customs clearance - this making it a domestic package and eligible to travel with all other domestic volume.

My wife’s iPhone 15 shipped almost immediately. My Pro Max has been stuck at preparing to ship since Saturday. Both ordered at 8:00 AM est on Friday. Mine order went through 1st and hers followed about 5 minutes later after all the failures. Both had the 22nd as a delivery date. In years past I don’t ever remember going into late Tuesday without a notice that it shipped. Not worried, just think it’s a bit strange. Anyone else who ordered on Friday seeing no movement for 3 days?

Mine still says “preparing to ship,” but UPS has had it for days.

It arrived in Louisville, Kentucky this morning, and it’s still “preparing for shipment!”

Today is Wednesday, and nothing has changed. Still at preparing stage and no UPS info on my UPS account. Contacted Apple via chat just to question and they can’t see anymore than I can see but “assured me” it will arrive on Friday. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I trust it will but why not give us the information?!

Just realized that the ups info I see is my phone, not my wife’s as I initially thought. Her’s doesn’t have tracking info.

Anyone in the Louisiana Metairie area and have been to lakeside mall on launch day? Im trying to decide if I should go around 7:30am before they open to try and get a 15pm. I missed preorder for the first time in 4 years.

Or if anyone has any advice for going the morning of that would be greatly appreciated :)

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. My order still says “being prepared for shipment.” It’s officially September 21!

Also, my phone is still in Kentucky. It better get on a plane.

I live in the UK and mine is still preparing for shipment. It’s due for delivery tomorrow and all I get from apple support is “don’t worry, rest assured that it’s being delivered tomorrow”

Still haven’t received my shipping notification. Wondering even if it’s coming tomorrow

Wouldn't worry about it yet. They use DPD and its fairly usual for them to message on the day with your out for delivery/timeslot notification.

I got my notification email from Apple but still not able to track via DPD

It should depart today. It always sit in KY for a few hours before they start leaving to their destination hubs.
It’s been in Kentucky for almost 48 hours. I’ve never seen that before. It’s usually in and out within the same day.

BUT

At least the order has updated in the Apple Store.

It’s not that I was worried, I just hadn’t seen such a lag in the order updates in any other launch day purchase.

I meant a few days. Mine arrived in KY on 9/19 and left today at 3:25pm.
