I just sit back and laugh at this. Anyone with half a brain would realize that it isn't a good idea to put a 5.5" phone in their pocket. Now they are going to complain to Apple that their phone is bent.

That's a brainist comment! How dare you!! :p

Have you no feelings for the serebally challenged online?

...But you design things so they can withstand certain stresses.

Nope, can't be done, you can't design out natural properties.
You pick the material best suited to the task, you don't pick the most unsuitable material then try and design it to be something else.

If that person's story is true, that the iPhone damage was caused as described, that's retarded. I plan to buy the Plus for the better camera and pixel density, but after reading this I'm not so sure. Retarded design flaw.

I'm 6'3" 250lbs and my pockets are no where near big enough for the 6+. I can only imagine some dude in skinny jeans trying it.... About the only pocket I would put one of those monsters in is the inside of a sport coat. It is almost an iPad mini. Are people putting those in their pockets as well?

My 6 feels a bit bulky in my pants pocket, though over time I will likely get used to that since I upgraded from my ancient 4.

(on a side note, without the word iPhone in front of the model numbers 13 year old me is laughing hysterically...)

What did you expect? Apple's design direction is led by a bunch of industrial designers and fine arts graduates. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple only has engineers in entry level positions...

That's what you get for wearing skinny jeans.

Ever seen these chicks who stick their iPhone in their back pocket? Tramp Stamp Gate is next.

Is it really a "feature" to have a thicker phone with a reinforced steel construction to prevent bends? or is it a "feature" to have the thinnest phone possible?

you decide, you can have a old school thinkpad or you can have an ultrabook.

This is were Aluminum is a bad choice(for large phones mind you, not the iPad).

If it was polycarbonate, it will probably bend but will come back to its original shape!

Personally I'm far more concerned that this guy drove a total 8 hours in one day, half of them in the middle of the night after dancing for several hours. That's just plain dangerous.

The thinner Apple makes their devices, the more important it is to put them in a case, so that you don't have to worry about every single thing.

Maybe apple has gone to far, to thin.

You can't put a $400 phone in you pocket?
Whats the point of being thin, light and then having to stick it in a clunky case.
Stupid design!

You all need to stop apologizing for Apple.

The fact remains, if you can't put your cell phone in your pants pocket then the cell phone has been poorly designed.

We need to clarify the differences between a cell phone and a tablet.

The iPhone 6+ is a tablet with cellular antennas on board. Apple should NOT be selling this product as a phone.

The same goes for the Note, the LG G3, etc.

If the Note, G3, etc bent, it would be poor design and phablets are ridiculous. Since last Friday, phablets are incredible and if your iPhone bends, it's your fault, not Apples. :D:D

Makes sense. It's a giant yet thin phone made of aluminum. I guess it's a good thing it still works after being bent.

Looks like apple has mastered the bendable display haha.

You have gone from a picture on the Internet that you know nothing about to "can't put it in your pocket"

Are you embarrassed?

Sadly my guess is no.

fat people everywhere or people with skinny jeans, please don't purchase the iPhone 6 Plus... Buy a Samsung phone made of plastic that can flex...

Cue the people that say stop wearing skinny jeans
