Again, what's the point? You buy a thinPhone and slap a thick case on it. #NoPoint

I don't care about having the world's thinnest phone. It seems that Apple believes that that feature is, or should be a big selling point. I don't agree. When the design starts to impede the day to day usability of a product, it is time to reassess the direction of the product development and design department, in my opinion.

I would rather have a phone with the same thickness as the iPhone 5, that also has the newer features of the iPhone 6.

Really? My HTC One M8 is primarily aluminum and I keep it in my pockets all the time without any bending, and I have had it since release day 6 months ago.

Same, I owned the HTC One M8 for some time and I never had any bending nor heard of any bending

Well, Steve presented the iPhone with glass on both sides and stainless steel frame. It was called iPhone 4 and it featured a very rugged and very clean design.

Then Timmy went excited and Jony took a nap. We got lots of curves, gold, colours, bands and whatnot.

That boat already sailed, and I was the captain... sorry :)

Ha! I figured someone snagged that. Well done Captain! :)
But seriously, who puts that massive phone in their pocket for that period of time and expects anything less?

Six months from now there will be iPhone 6 users who have had no problems with bending.

For those whose phone is bent, that is cold comfort.

I see rumors of flexible phones coming from Samsung. It's likely that Apple and other manufacturers are working on this, too.

Hopefully Jony Ive's penchant for making everything thinner will come to a freaking end!

Give us thicker phones with good battery life.Might help with the rigidity too!

Had iPhones going back to the 3GS...never worried about them feeling "fragile" before...but the 6 is the first one where, when holding it without a case, I had a definite sense that this thing is fragile - i.e. its so thin and slippery, it feels as if I dropped it or sat on it it would be damaged for sure, like a thin piece of ceramic.

I started to sit once with it in a back pocket and got an immediate sense of dread - never worried about that prior to the 6. Quickly got a case and even with that won't be sitting with it in a pocket, especially after this article.

They're getting too thin for me (having the lens stick out cause of the thin-ness is another poor design choice IMHO, if you don't have a case on the 6, that lens assembly is going to constantly be taking physical scuffs and abuse which isn't what you want, even with sapphire) - if we'd have had the NFC/Payment feature in a 5s, even with the smaller display I'd have gladly chosen that instead, gladly...JMHO.

I also note that my iPad Air, by its large area, should be WAY more vulnerable, yet has survived compression among luggage/objects FAR stronger than "a couple hours drive in a loose pocket."

Apple devices constructed more or less like the 6 began years ago with the first Mini if not before.

When there's a 100,000 reports of bent iPhones I'll start worrying.

10 million sold. 3-4 bent.

I'm in agreement with those who believe that the iPhone should be able to be carried in a pocket. I'm a woman and carry mine in a purse, but I think it is unreasonable to expect men to buy special pants or use a man purse.
