Which means that it's stupid to compare the structural integrity of a plastic frame and with a aluminium frame… (As the video did and the other guy aswell) The iPhone should be compared with other aluminium smartphones, preferable with the same size and thickness… Otherwise it makes no sense…

Otherwise i can say that my concrete phone wont bend at all.. no matter what strength you apply, it will not bend… :D

In other words Apple overextended their capabilities and made a phone that does not stand up to the sturdiness of its rivals due to its quest for being the thinnest phone on the market? About sum it up?

Well… You can say that when you can compare with other aluminium phones with the same thickness and size if possible… M8 is tougher to bend, but it's also thicker for example… Plus, another thing to note before jumping in the "burn Apple" bandwagon, is to find what's the real numbers of this problem. It could be a bad batch, or it could be a design flaw…

Anyway, i'm not defending Apple blindly, i'm just saying that a) It's a delicate piece of hardware and carrying it in a tight pocket on tight pants, where it will be subjected to heavy forces it's asking for problems (at least remove it when siting or getting in a car for example) and b) it's stupid to compare different forms and materials (plastic vs aluminium) and making of that a point.

Funny how everyone else making larger phones doesn't seem to have this issue.... but maybe they aren't sitting wrong.

That's not true. We don't hear about them having problems because their phones aren't popular and the general public isn't interested in reading news about them. Any bad news about Apple is guaranteed traffic, so everyone and their little brother does a story and everyone hears about it.

I think we finally know why Apple hired Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts. It is so Apple can introduce it's next big thing. Man purses for the iphone 6 because men can't carry them in their pockets. Think of the fashion statement Apple can make.

The comparison is not stupid because you are comparing rival products; regardless of material, software, construction, price etc the iPHone 6/s is supposed to compete with its Android adversaries - mostly which are NOT 'delicate pieces of hardware'.

Just today I held my m8 and my coworkers 6 side by side, there is absolutely NO question which is the stouter phone. That being said the 6 wins out in lightness and feel-in-hand; but that is not a worthy trade-off IMO.

To each their own, im sure the majority of iphone6 users will love their phones and this is probably getting blown out of proportion.

Are you serious, it's a cell phone being left in a front pocket (yes even while sitting) absolutely falls into the category of normal use. I sit in front of a cell culture hood for many hours a day and listen to music / books / podcasts.

I keep my phone in my pocket because I can't set it in the hood (not sterile) and pulling it out and setting in on the chair (between my legs say) is a great way to drop it.

If a phone can't be left in a pocket while sitting that is a huge design flaw not user error.

Perfect. Now Apple can cater to the normal thinking people with an upgraded 5S version for adults. Adults who do not bend over every time Apple comes up with a new gadget. Some people actually use the device for something called work or comfort. This group does not have the time to sleep on the street to hysterically acquire a new toy, nor to treat a phone with significant care. Cook, give me something of essence, not some hipster trendy garbage.

The m8 is a popular Android flagship. How long did it take you to find a one complaint about chassis issues for a phone released 8 months ago?

I didn't said that comparing two rival phones is stupid… I said that comparing, in this case, the "bendable capacity" of 2 very different materials is stupid…

Saying that "the Note 3 is sturdier than the iPhone 6" is different than saying that "if the Note 3 doesn't not bend, so it shouldn't the iPhone 6" or that "the Note 3 doesn't bed, thus it's a better piece of engineering"…

Couldn't have said it better! Carrying the phone in your pocket no matter the sitting position or the type of pants you're wearing shouldn't matter. I can't imagine owning a phone where I have to spend time thinking about how "pocketable" it is in a given sitting position. No way.

I would love to see Apple make a 6s with a plastic back like the 5c..or make a 6c with touch ID and better colors

I'm pretty sure that most of them are (if true) are bended by having then in skinny jeans. And although I am still waiting for mines my friends have the 6 plus and I spoken to them to check if they have similar issues and they have none, so if true could be a an isolated case. Not defending Apple as the new phones are amazingly thin. We had a few similar posts last year with the 5s where competitors paid users to post negative feedback

So… If you treat your hardware with significant care you are either a hipster or a jobless person? Or both?

It is just a phone. A disposable phone. Unfortunately, the iPhone became somewhat of a status icon among the populace. In reality, one must be a poor idiot to camp all night on a street to get a cellphone.

Fair enough. But IMO producing a phone designed for daily consumption that is so easily bendable is poor engineering regardless of materials. If you couldn't make it thin and strong then dont make it thin and weak.

The m8 is everything you describe, a tiny bit thicker and heavier; but barely noticeable in real life, and not in the least bit bend-able.

You are paying a high structural price for those 2 extra mm of thinness... which to many would be inconsequential.

If you're talking about the HTC M8, yes, people have bent it. Google.

I didn't ask about the camping, i've asked about the caring…

It's a disposable phone that costs more than the majority countries minimum income in the world… Heck, in my country, a 16GB 6 plus almost doubles the minimum income… So, i'm sorry if i take care of my disposable phone that costed a lot of money to get and that i plan to use for the foreseeable future.

And nope, i'm not jobless nor a hipster, i just like to take care of what is mine…

WTF X 10. Are people really this stupid and have no commons sense? If it does not fit in your pocket only keep it in your pocket when standing up. Don't just take a chance. Some people are retards. This is classed as abuse of the device an I hope apple say "no too bad you didn't use common sense. This is not a device faulty its the owners fault.

If you're talking about the HTC M8, yes, people have bent it. Google.

One person found a slight corner to corner play (undocumented) and one person sat on their phone after falling down a step.

In 8 months of the m8's release you really feel that compares to this?

Was wondering when this would be posted as an article. :) I have a feeling it wouldn't bend if we broke our normal habit of pointing the screen towards our thigh. If the screen (glass side) was pointing away from the thigh, then it wouldn't bend.

People put in their pocket with the glass towards the thigh? Huh. I've always done it the other way. I just assumed everybody did it that way.
