Unappolageticly bending

As we now know the world is not flat it's round. To view this properly apple has dveloped a curved display. The world in your pocket. Unapologetically anatomogilacly correct. Iphone mirrors the world as you see it. Johnny Ive

Available now. Contains no plastic parts.

Yeah, I've got it. Man, got to get to sleep because I'm addicted to this crazy insanity. Its like a bad trip ;-).

If you continue like this the other kids will take away all drugs from you and stop playing with you in the backyard.

No bothered by this as I am buying a plastic case.
3GS, 4, 5. No problems with the phone bending.

Cracked glass however...

Well this is bad. As for tips on sitting, they'll be hammered if they try.

I don't expect a phone to bend in my pocket, no matter how large/thin, and certainly not a premium-priced device - it shows it wasn't tested adequately.

Cheap materials or the race for thinness gone too far?

in greece there is this saying for news like this - "silk panties require skilful asses"

The phone is thin and is made out of aluminium regardless of it being a premium priced device.

I think this will encourage more people to purchase cases.

I've ordered a iPhone 6+ glad i also brought one of the silicone cases with it now. Just hope this doesn't happen to my 6+ i do a lot of commuting on a daily basis, so my phone is usually always in my pocket or my hand while listening to music.

Do you honestly believe the silicone case is going to add any structural integrity to the iPhone? Good luck with that

Cool down, its just the new iphone :)

So out of the 10 million sold, mine included, if it's TRUELY a desingn flaw you should expect what...... 50% bend rate? 10%? People were bending their 5 and 5s yet that never turned into a major problem except here on MR....... My 9 year old daughter managed to not bend a 5 she's been using for over a year yet others here on MR couldn't get through a week without bending theirs..... So is it really a "design flaw" or users being irresponsible with their $800 device?

As far as "can't be pocketed"..... I've been pocketing my 6+ daily sense I got it last Friday....... Working, driving, even ran down the street with it in my pocket and guess what? Yep, no bending. Wife has been pocketing her iPhones sense they came out including the 6..... Never bent one and she is a 32 year old woman that wears her shorts on the tight side. How is it two (4 if you want to add my 9 and 11 year old kids) normal, typical humans can manage to use their phones daily for years without bending them yet others can't go a week? Again is it a flaw in the design or users being irresponsible? I go with the latter.

Design flaw or not, I think we can all say that a phone which bends as easily as this is not really what Apple or consumers want. Hopefully Apple can find a way to solve the issue.

Silicone wont help, you need a hard plastic case.

Ahahah so true! It's just so ironic that people complain about the plastic in Samsung devices and in the end they need to put the beautiful (insert marketing gimmick here) iPhone in a plastic case to maintain the device integrity structure.

I'll put your sarcasm aside and point out, like many others have, how the iPhone 5 and 5S had the same issue. But no one freaks out about that in 2012/13?

I've had my 5 for 2 years. It goes in my pocket many times, every single day. It is not bent at all.

I know a guy who got a iPhone 6+ 5 days ago, and drove with it in his pocket for an hour and now it's bent.

Sure, it's nothing but media BS, right?

I had a 5 for two years as well. Most sturdy phone I've ever had. My 6+ is flawless so far too - even after wearing it in jeans for hours at a time in school - I feel like the bending of them is a fluke and the people who have them bent have just sat the wrong way unluckily.

My 3GS (€ 699) has a plastic back, this can crack, so I bought a case and now it's still in premium condition.

My 4S (€799) has a glass back, this can shatter, so again I bought a case and it's in mint condition

My 5S (€899) has an aluminium back, this can dent, so guess what? I bought a case and it still looks the same as the day I unpacked it.

Are you seeing a trend? Buy a decent case that is stiff and protects the back and the screen and remember that you are carrying a pocket computer with phone and text capability, that is probably more worth than your 42" tv at home.

It's good that Apple made the 6 and 6 Plus thin, this means that it will stay relative thin when still in a case.
While I walk sometimes around with my 5S in my front pocket of my jeans, I always take it out before I sit down, it's not a pleasant feeling sitting down.
Most of the time it's in the pocket of my vest or jacket. (Never in the back pocket of my paints, because that is waiting for an accident to happen).

Also the fact that I had to pay full price, really is a good incentive to take care of my phones.

I've been following the story and it's not only the iPhone that has this 'fault', the 6+ is very big, DON'T put it in your back pocket and sit on it!

There is no fault here it will happen to any thin phone wait a 5.5 inch screen unless it's much thicker or has a solid case.

I never put any phone in my back pocket and you'd be an attention seeking fool if you do it to you brand new $1000 phone, no matter if it's from Apple or anyone else.

I have a 3Gs still in mint condition and a 5s both with cases. If you're going to spend that much money on a smart phone get a decent case or belt pouch so you don't crush your new toy.

I have the leather one in iPhone 6+. I have the feeling that with this case, bend will never happen!!

guys... is no one curious about the spot where it bends?

i mean.. if this happend in that guys pocket while he is walking, sitting,... doesnt it bend the long way in the shape of your thigh?

the bending on the photos seems like they were sitting down while the phone was looking out of the pocket.

you guys know what i mean? no one thought about that?

It might be difficult to sit on a phone while wearing it in the FRONT pocket. It justs bends where it's weakest.

There is an online video where a blogger bends it with his hands. It does not bend where the most force is applied.
