iPhone 6 cracked screen

My iPhone 6 (standard, not Plus) is bent and has a single hairline fracture from just under the volume rocker across the entire width of the phone. This appears to be where everyones phone is bending, mine has bent the glass outwards though and its made a tiny, but definite crack. Has this happened to anyone else's?
I have taken perfect care of it and just wore it in my jeans for a car journey.
I purchased AppleCare + but as a long time iPhone user (since the 3G upgrading every 2 years), this is a genuine disappointment.
:(

Not saying I don’t believe you but some good pics would be great.

The fact that you are using the M8 as an example illustrates that you have no idea what you are talking about. At least use the Note 3 or G3 LG but the HTC handsets are absolutely no comparison.

Yes, you cannot bend the M8 but the phone is not even close to the competition.

You obviously know nothing about anything. The HTC One M8 is the only phone that comes close to the iPhone 6 in terms of build quality and was up there with the other androids in specs. I sold my Note 3 for the M8, and if I didn't get the 6+ I would've definitely held onto the M8 for the next HTC. Clearly you're like most of the population who is swayed easily by advertisement, Apple or Android you just follow the hype.

Yet millions of others have managed to use their phone as you have and have NOT bent their phone. I suggest, like every other person that has complained of a bent phone no matter the model, that people need to take care of their devices.

Sad thing is that Apple edited their warranty to not include bent phones...after the 6+ bending issue was reported. Disappointed, Apple. Disappointed. I type this as I use my 6+.

bend

This is definitely disturbing news. Perhaps it will come out that these are isolated incidents. However, as people have said, it isn't really surprising considering how thin it is compared to the phone size. I think they should have went with 5.1" or 5.2" instead (also more practical for general use?). Of course, it could very well be possible to bend it at that size too.. We may hear more reports as people get their Plus over the next few weeks. I may seriously consider going with the iPhone 6 Minus.

Cnet reached out to Apple and they declined to comment so I'm guessing the issue will have to get 100 times worse before they say anything. I suppose at this point if it's selling really well it's probably better from a business standpoint to keep quiet and see what happens. If they know it could be an issue changing the warranty could save them tons of money.

I had a feeling that the bending would an issue after watching the drop test bend a 6+. If it'll bend from a drop, it'll bend in a pocket. Why they wouldn't reinforce the edges with internal bracing is beyond me. My 6+ came today, so I'm interested to get a feel for it myself.

Was wondering when this would be posted as an article. :) I have a feeling it wouldn't bend if we broke our normal habit of pointing the screen towards our thigh. If the screen (glass side) was pointing away from the thigh, then it wouldn't bend.

I always place a phone in my pocket with the screen up and the back against my thigh. From the photos you have it backwards.

The phones will never be recalled. At most they might make a statement that the phones should not be put in your pocket.

I could maybe see them enforce a replacement plan if you can make it to a local apple store. Which will restrict a lot of their buyers that don't live near one.

I wouldn't like to hear the experience..

Probably allot of cracking..

This is what happens when u make phone of that size... I would guess the 4.7-inch would of been better.

Didn't take long did it ?

A case would have also protected them by the way.

Make these phones all strong metal, so they can't bend.... Customers will be happy then.... oh wait,, now the price goes up...

oh well, i tried.....

Really? Unbelivable? Someone uses a massive amount of force at an obvious weakened point in the design of the phone and it bends and THAT is unbelievable? Ok.

My m8 is absolutely NOT the best phone on the market, is there such thing? Best fit for me? For my criteria yes.

What? Someone here on MR gets it? Nooooooo......you mean I'm not the only one that understands that the best device for each person is a personal choice and not necessarily a brand? Wow there is intelligent life here on MR.

If this is true ( and I don't say it is not, I just cannot verify ) Apple confirmed by this action that there are serious issues.

What a bad move, to shift responsibility of a bad engineered product to the customers. Let Jonny Ive design the products, but never construct them. Construction should be the responsibility of engineers and they should have a vote to reject bad designs.

Every year "bendgate" is a thing. All of a sudden the iPhone 6 Plus is a faulty design because idiots aren't treating them properly. Smh

You know what is unbelievable?

How people find it acceptable that a phone bends when in the pocket of someone sat in a car. I always put my phone in my pocket when in the car, in fact, I've just got in from a 45 minute drive and my iPhone 5 was in my jeans front pocket.

Lets face it, we are the minority. We, the people who post and discuss this kind of thing on a forum like this. How many of those 10,000,000 iPhone 6 & 6+ owners are even aware that this is happening? That's the scary thing.

I honestly think that if a customer went to Apple or their retailer in the UK and under the Sales of Goods Act disputed the phone is not fit for purpose and is not of satisfactory quality, they'd probably be right. It clearly isn't fit for purpose, if it can not be pocketed.
