Apple's target customer is a person who doesn't know/cares about how tech stuff works, even more when we talk about an iOs device. It doesn't have public specs, it doesn't even have a file manager for God's sake. If that person has an iPhone 4s, and Apple says him to update, because the phone tells him so, he does it, because it's Apple and "it just works". For a lot of people the difference between an iPhone 4s and an iPhone 6 are aesthetics, screen size, touch Id and price, just that, they even have the same OS. The reality is that iOs9 has quite some lag on an iPhone 6. I suppose that on a iPhone 5s it is quite bad and 5-4s it is just crap. There is no excuse for this, the only reason being pushing that people to upgrade their devices obviously, which is very legitimate since it's a company with shareholders and so on. But this is a forum, full of naive users as usual, those people who think Apple used 1gb of ram because power efficiency or silly things like that, not for increasing their profit margins.
Actually 5s runs iOS 9 way better than 6 and 6+ do. Extremely fast and no lag even when you are swiping between windows in multitasking. I hate how my 6+ runs slower than my mom's 5s now.

My iPhone 6s randomly shut off this morning. I was going to make a call and was on my favorites and the screen seemed to have horizontal lines across it, then it restarted. I updated to iOS 9.0 and it's a 64 gig. Sure seems like my 5s did that not too long ago - I've only had the 6s for a week.

Just happened to me for the first time after plugging in the stock headphones.
The screen was off.
I plugged in the headphones.
I put the phone in my pocket.
I press the button on the headphones to have Siri wake and nothing.
I took my phone out of my pocket and pressed the power button.
Screen would not come back on.
Had to hold home and power down to wake.

I exchanged my 6s plus after one day due to random restarts. The guy at the Apple store gave me a hard time, like he didn't believe me. It's funny how they're super nice to you until you try to return something. And I wasn't even getting a refund... I just got the exact same model and storage size. My second one has not shut down a single time in the same way. It happened threes times in my first hour of using the first phone.

This is a software crash and then reboot, happens on my 3GS and I'm not running new software.

Im not sure if its related, but my sons Ipad Air 1 for school also shut itself down for o reason and would nt turn itself back on.
I had to hold down both the ON and the Home button together for over 10 seconds to force a restart (something I only learnt from experimenting). Its seems ok now but my son, his teacher, and I thought the ipad was dead.
just fyi.

I had my 6 auto-reboot once in a week after iOS 9 came out. But now my 6s has randomly rebooted 3 times, and I had to for reboot once because it stopped responding. Same problem on 9.0.2 as on 9.0.1. Next year I'm waiting for 10.1 to update. Between this and the mess Apple made with backups restores on new phones, upgrading iPhones has become a really crappy experience.

Looooooooooooooooool. The mess Apple has made? On purpose? Oh gawd, I hope you can get through this man. My thoughts are with you.

I'm not going to lose my cool over a few tech issues. I just wish Apple were more responsive to issues. It seems we only know an issue is resolved when a patch comes out. Why can't Apple say, we know this is a problem and we're working on a fix. Might go a way to keep the hard core fans chilled.

I got this issue with my 6s too, either 9.0, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2.
My 6 didn't have this issue with 9.0.1.
(But I only upgraded to 9.0.1 and used for just a few days then I got my 6s)

Total for 4~5 times till today, I have connected my earphone once.
And I notice that siri still works when I press the home button, with a screen with blank and no response.
So I worried that this is NOT JUST a shut off issue

My iPhone 6s Plus on 9.0.2 has restarted once overnight when it was charging. I know this because when I attempted to unlock with TouchID, it asked me to enter my password on the first try.

:confused: I'm glad you posted that. I came close to finally deciding to update my iPad retina mini 2 from iOS 8 to the current iOS. My iPhone has been doing fine so far on it. I'm just going to keep my mini right where it's at now.
I updated my mini 2 and I have had no restart problems.

happened again last night, wasn't even on airplane mode or face down. Double reboot fixed it, still had 70% battery.

so, 9.1b3 didn't fix it.

Quit with the hash tags - you're not "defining" anything, you just look like lemmings.

people speak about lag only in forums like this.
In the real world no-one could complain about an iPhone 6, but even about an iPhone 5S.
LOL
False.
In the real world people have a lot of problems with their hardware/software.
A lot of the time, when you actually do get to learn of the problem the responses are often as follows, (this list is a snippet and is most certainly not exhaustive);
Oh yeah, mine did that. I just assumed it was normal.
Oh yeah, mine did that. I just assumed they all did it. (Especially this when talking about lag - it doesn’t mean that they are happy with it).
Oh yeah, mine did that. It didn’t bother me.
Oh yeah, mine did that. I didn’t have the time to get it fixed.
Oh yeah, mine did that. I didn’t have the money to get it fixed.
Oh yeah, mine did that. I didn’t have the know how to get it fixed.

These responses most often come from the people described by nando87 in #283.

Are YOU saying I'm lying ?

2 Gb are better and welcomed. 3 Gb would even be better. But the iPhone 6 was great even with 1 Gb and my iPad Air is still a wonderful device with its lonely Gb....
I don't think anybody's lying. However, just because it's working fine for you, doesn't mean that other folks are immune to the issue.
