“The iPhone XS Has a Serious Problem” when, over the course of the thread it’s become clear it’s an iOS 12 issue not dependent on hardware". By which I pretty clearly meant "not tied to a specific device" as claimed/

I'm not going to waste any more time on this absurdity.
Bye bye :D

The "Tesla Effect" applies here and in the skin smoothing thread.

Look, you pay for a high-end device. Ideally you want everything to work, sure, but the rest of the device is good enough that you dont really care about these things as much as the rest of the Apple-hating world. You will not start RABBLING about a software quirk or something that will inevitably get resolved on the back-end.

Generally it's the people who cant afford the product that are the loudest in these situations.
So it's about envy?

more or less, yes. but it's not that they want the phone, it's about bringing down the "absurdly high priced" consumables to make themselves feel better about the choices they make for themselves.

if a $200 phone has a similar issue, no one is going to bat an eye because, well, it's $200. But at $1200, the expectations are much higher, understandably, so everyone gets much louder...but again, mostly those who don't own the device.

Have experienced it once on my iphone X. Running iOS12. Definitely software bug.
But it's not quite as exciting to call it a simple software bug. It's much better to act like the new iPhones are deeply flawed like the Note 7 was.

That's what is damaging Apple's reputation more than the problem itself. People, who have problems with Apple products, are ridiculed by Apple-fans in a totally unacceptable language. If your are using your phone to pay or as ticket on your local commute and it is not charged, this will put you in a very awkward and potentially expensive situation.
LOL, no, they're not being ridiculed. People are just putting the problems in the proper perspective. It's going to be fixed, and then forgotten. What we are ridiculing is frankly stupid, overwrought comments like this one posted by people who seem to want to destroy Apple over absolutely anything no matter how picayune. We all know Android fanboys, and frankly we find them tedious.

9 iOS devices on iOS 12 (6s-Xs Max) in my household, none with this issue. Must be lucky or it’s not all that widespread.

Not seeing the need to throw a hissy fit and blow up matter isn’t the same as denying your experience. Yes, the point has been made, and past a certain point, really just looks like people making noise for the sake of making noise.

But I have been seeing this trend right from the start, so I don’t know why I am all that surprised at this point. Something about Apple just causes normal everyday people to go hysterical over the slightest issue, be it real or imagined. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And the very same people complaining you're "denying your experience" will happily deny your experience if it's positive or differs from their own.

Haven’t you heard? It’s forbidden to have any legitimately positive experiences with your Apple products. It makes you a sheep. But when you hate on Apple, you are being enlightened and objective.

Seems you guys are equally as desperate to find a reason to hate this guy. I wonder what is more pathetic...

What do you guys care so much? He is doing what he is expected to do, if you do not like his videos than do not watch them. Other people watching them & other people commenting on them does not affect you in any way at all. I literally do not see the problem. Hell you can probably even block the guy to prevent his videos from showing up in your world on accident.

Seems Apple users really are the whiniest bunch of people. Imagine explaining to a starving kid you are upset because a youtube video maker is making youtube videos. Lol jesus people.

Just an observation: You come to an Apple fanbase comment section and expected what? To take a page out of your book, "They are doing what they are expected to do, if you do not like the comments thEn do not read them."

"Imagine explaining to a starving kid that you are upset because you have to press a button to get your phone to charge..." I actually think the videos are much more in line with the "first world problems" mentality, and speaking out against them is actually trying to shut down truly whiny Apple fans.

Imagine telling a starving kid that you spent over 1k on a phone that sometimes doesn't charge right.

It always does charge right, just takes an extra step at the moment. But nice straw man.

My comment was made to show how silly the "explain to a starving kid" bit was. 99% of our lives are ridiculous to them. It's a moot point.

If it wasn't a problem, Apple wouldn't have had anything to fix. And yet they did. But nice defense of a trillion dollar company.
As a programmer, I'm defending any tech company. Bugs are a reality. This looks to be a minor software bug that is easily fixed. I find sensationalizing that really dumb. I do the same with Google when there are issues in Android. Though, those tend not to be as sensationalized in my experience.

I also never said it wasn't an issue. I said that it still charges correctly, which is true. Idealism and practicality are vastly different. If this actually stopped people from charging their iPhone at all, then I think this would be a "-gate" situation he's trying to make it into. This just means people need to press a button when connecting their phone to a charger for (most likely) a small window of time. A minor inconvenience? Sure. Anything more? Nah.

You mean Apple has shipped another faulty product? but will fix it later? shocking
You mean every phone manufacturer ships NEW phones will no small bugs??? Not even one???

Please.
Name one phone that came out perfect with not one bug. Because it’s iPhone, it gets extra attention under a microscope. The so called “tech” YouTube idiots love to throw Apple under the bus with their clickbait agenda.

The most accurate post ever on these forums. Never seen a company with so many people emotionally attached to them in my life. Its like Apple is a religion they follow. Its ok to point out an issue with a product that costs over 1000 bucks people!!! Apple have been making a habit of releasing half baked products lately because they can get away with it.
What else has Apple released that is half baked??? And not your anti Apple opinion, but FACT.

lol antenna gate, how many years ago was that??? 9-10?? Apple maps? Idk never heard of it.

Bend gate. Only morons purposely bend their phones.

Well you didn't ask between a certain time frame! As for bendgate, Apple released a phone which they knew was not as strong as previous handsets.
Apple’s own internal testing prior to launch identified bending as a potentially severe drawback of the design. The company’s engineers calculated the iPhone 6 was 3.3 times more likely than the iPhone 5s to bend. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 Plus with its larger footprint was a whopping 7.2 times more likely to warp.

I Never claimed Apple was perfect. I disagree how they handled the battery issues with slowdowns. They should’ve just come out and said it. With bendgate, I never had that problem with my 6. A friend of mine who always wore skinny jeans seemed to bend their 6 Plus Apple gave a replacement free of charge. No one knows if Apple did that on purpose with the bending of phones.

Don’t forget they don’t like apple or it’s users, and they feel justified because they bought an apple product back in 2011.

Yeah totally justified.

A positive experience, never.
Those who do are labeled Apple loyalist, apple apologists, or worse.

If you want a laugh, just search for the exploding note 7 thread.

You will see much of the same posters defending an explosive phone and the company that built it.

The Same posters that always seem to be very critical of apple and it’s users. No idea why .

LoL when you were saying: What else has Apple released that is half baked??? And not your anti Apple opinion, but FACT what did you imply? That he can't even give one objective example because Apple is perfect? The he is just biased and absolutely nothing else? That apple can't be criticized in any way?

And actually the iphone 6 is a great example: problematic design that made the phone more susceptible to bends(which was fixed with the 6s), caused other problems like Touch Disease and forced Apple to throttle the phone's performance because of subpar batteries.

I'm sure Apple didn't expect people to sit on their phone. I'm sure no phone was design to be sit on in the first place. And when u want something thin and light, things do get more fragile.

Therefor Bendgate is stupid as I also have the older iPhone and didn't even manage to bend it until today.

But chargegate is something serious which i'm experiencing it as the first night when I plug my phone in, the next morning it wasn't even charged. I thought its just me didn't on the power or didn't plug it in correctly. Until this get widespread and luckily its a known issue

Such a disaster that it's the best iPhone I've ever owned.

You mustn't be one of the people experiencing charging problems
or one of the people seeing the front camera giving dodgy photographs
or one of the people experiencing wifi and/or LTE connection issues
or one of the people who've dropped it more than a foot off the ground and had the whole thing shatter

For £1100 I wouldn't be expecting these sort of issues. It makes me wonder if the new iPads are gonna be as shoddily designed. I've been planning on buying one but I'll have to wait and see now.

Seriously glad I've been using Samsung phones exclusively since BlackBerry days.

I hope you skipped the note series , at least one gen.
Talking about a phone that has a serious problem.....

Wish he’d report about the color washing effect going on in iOS 12. Or someone!

Or wat about the stutters displaying Dolby vision/hdr content on iTunes and Netflix and the juddery/jerky frame conversion of 1080p24 content.
