CNN Money reports that some MobileMe customers are still without email service.
The Cupertino, Calif., company has been migrating its .Mac pay email service to an upgraded version, called MobileMe. But in doing so, it has run into problems including service outages and customers losing access to their accounts. It's the latest in a string of issues that have cropped up since the launch of the latest iPhone, an unusual turn for a company known for its attention to detail in its products and services.
According to the Apple's own MobileMe support site, 1% of MobileMe members cannot access MobileMe Mail. The outage has reportedly lasted for 4 days. Apple's discussion forums and our own have seen a number of posts from affected MobileMe customers.

Apple's MobileMe launch as been marred with delays and apologies surrounding the service. MobileMe is Apple's new $99/year service which replaces .Mac and offers customers web-based email, calendar, addressbook, online storage as well as sync services.

I've been without e-mail since Friday at noon. I've remained patient, but at the same, my MobileMe/.mac address is my primary e-mail, so it really has been a huge inconvenience. It usually doesn't take Apple this long to correct problems such as these.

Apple. It just wo-

Oh.

Never mind.

This is bad PR at its finest. What were they thinking of?

I must be one of the lucky ones. It's working great. I also have 4 me.com aliases setup and they are also working. Mac.com emails are also getting through.

My webmail is completely blank, but I still get mail on my phone...

Pretty annoying really.

me too, everything you said. except i'm not remaining patient. this is crazy.

inconsistent

Not all of my emails are getting through to MobileMe. I sent test emails from my gmail account to all of my me.com addresses (i have 3) and none have gotten through today. The "push" email service to my iphone is also hit-or-miss.

I'm looking forward to when Apple gets all the wrinkles worked out with MobileMe. It is unfortunate that the service's problems affect MobileMe's core features (i.e., basic email, push services, etc.). Very disappointing roll-out.

Wow, I was somewhat appologetic for the transition and some time after, but now I don't know.

Makes me glad that I'm picking up my iPhone in a few months, where these problems hopefully will be sorted out :) Having said that, so far these problems arn't as widespread as they could be because no place I know of has any stock of these. I'm not sure which they'll sort first. Still, I'm in no rush, but It sure sucks for those who currently have their iPhones. My hearts with you guys.

I am surprised that this problem has been so long-lasting. Maybe an outage for 12 hours max, but for days on end, that is ridiculous! Any users who have paid for the service and are still out of their email should receive a free-year's subscription, this outage is just way to long for a company like Apple.

my email works but some emails show up instantly, others with hours of delay. overall it seems to get better but still worse that it was with .mac for me.

calendar syncing works but not push. i have to manually syns my macs to get the calendar updated (from cloud to mac).

overall still less reliable than .mac and that was already bad.

but at least i can see some improvements.

I was apologetic as well during the transition.

At this point, I am very angered. I have a paid service that doesn't work. I can't access my email, contacts, calendar, at all. Add to that, push hardly works.

I'm jumping ship the second google announces something!

btw: i never got that email from apple saying sorry and that we get a 30 day extension. must be one of the emails that didn't get pushed:D

I don't use my .mac/.me mail that much, if ever. Looks like mine isn't working I was wondering why I didn't get about the 30 day ext.

Apple should ...

Suspend charging anyone for MobileMess until it is functional and reliable. Currently, I am using the "trial" membership. I will not consider upgrading to a real membership until it stabilizes. If that does not happen before the trial is over ... I will probably bail permanently.

BTW, I sent 3 test e-mails this morning, one from yahoo, one from my work server, and one from my ISP web mail. The one from yahoo has not arrived yet. The other two arrived after a few hours. Lame with a capitol "L".

Email is not working for me right now. It's been off and on for the last 10 days. Sync is awful. Back to my Mac quit working for me shortly after the MM upgrade. I had a lot of problems with iDisk after the initial rollout, where I could not access it for 3-4 days, but it's working okay now. I have used .Mac since 2002, and I've had enough. All I want is a reliable email and remote storage solution, which is apparently too much to ask of MobileMe.

the thing what makes this really bad is that for many customers apples image of a near perfect company is important. many people drop hundreds of dollars on an iphone and they want to be able to tell their friends it was a good buy because "it just works". the same is true for people spending $100 on mobile me. we want to be able to say it's a great service and worth the money when friends ask us why we don't use the free gmail.

this image is tainted now. that could mean a lot less sales for a company that depends not only on their great products but also a lot on their image.

imagine harley davidsons image goes down. who would buy their bikes then since japanese bikes are technically just as good?

well i was thinkin bout geting this but with all the problems they had i found another alternative with push email mobile2web and its free and works on my ipod touch cant complain about it the only thing im not geting is the disc space but aol has that too.
