There must be something about the ink pigmentation that is different than say an African black skin (about the darkest that I know at least), becasue a natural black skin can be very dark, darker than some of the tats I have seen.

In any case, this is why I have always told my daughters not to get tats as you can never go back if you have regrets later. (like good daughters, they totally ignored me SMH).

If I'm missing my left arm, that's a problem too, I guess Apple needs to solve? You can't solve all problems. I would have loved a detailed, technical paper on how the watch works, how all the new tech works, then people could have put 2+2 together to come up with that beforehand. But Apple was tight-lipped about everything for months. I mean that must have known this, but no big deal.

People who cannot tell time with an analog face... or people who can't read... they can't solve all problems.

I accept Apple cannot record and highlight every single permutation of weird things people do, or body issue they may have and have a list of vague and weird issues.

However, I would maintain a tattoo on the arm, is within the realms of a not THAT weird/crazy thing for a human to have.

Tattoo's are moderately common things, and if one is to make a device that fits onto the body, one could argue that a tattoo on the skin, would be a fairly basic thing to check for.

So basically Apple needs to update their technical documentation that certain wrist tattoos may interfere with the watch sensors and cause those sensors not to work.

It has to do with the pigments used not the color of the skin/tattoo. What makes black people black is much different than what makes a black tattoo...

Ink Different!

You saw it here first....

Isn't it the metal in some inks that is causing the problem?

Bad title?

Shouldn't the title include the word wrist?
I mean..

"Some wrist tattoos found....

I mean, from the title I seems like some people are having tattoo related problems with it no matter where the tattoo is.

Lol. That's an absurd comparison.

The amount of ignorance in this thread is astounding. Because people have tattoos they must be trash or unable to afford an Apple Watch. Truly enlightened you are. Welcome to 2015.

It should be fairly obvious from the article (and image) it refers to tattoos that are in direct contact w/ the watch.

Also, it's funny and sad watching the amount of conservative folks pretending this isn't a defect by instead bashing people with ink. I guess if you live on a farm in Kansas tattoos seem like this 'zany' thing, but in cities they're pretty much the norm. I'm almost in shock when I come across someone who doesn't have a tattoo these days. Either way, tattoo or not, it's sad to see so many Apple fans displaying vitriolic comments about other people's decision to get a tattoo. That kind of nastiness looks far worse on you than a tattoo ever would.

only hipsters have tattoos? right...

seriously, why does everyone call anyone different than them a hipster?
I'll never understand why computer nerds/geeks would make fun of anyone. When a lot of people could make fun of us for following a tech company so religiously.

Doing that proves that they're no better than the jocks making fun of the nerds in high school. People have different hobbies, who cares?

Also "hipster" is one of the must misused words of all time. It's like, "I don't understand something -- they most be a hipster!"

Ironically, most of us could be labeled hipsters with our overpriced laptops and smart watches.
