QUICK Rabid forum members, we've dug up another minor bug that a handful of users are experiencing....GO MAD, GO GO GO!

Next a topic on that if you press the emoji laugh icon on the touch bar twice on a Tuesday it only registers once on a small batch of 13" MacBook Pro's running 10.12.1 (16B2657) after 8pm.
This is what happens when you Nickel and dime and overcharge wout innovations. If there is not a lot of innovation people then expect a more polish hardware to work w the software from the same maker.

Since you got in at comment #3 it appears the apologists won the race to post on this one.

Minor issue? I use the three finger gesture functional all the time. Giant part of how I navigate the OS, so speak for yourself. Now, instead of darting around the OS, I've got to gesture 3 or 4 times for it to fully carry out the action.

How do you know it's only a handful of users? Got some insider information that you'd like to share with us? You miss this part buddy? :

A small but growing number of users.

We don't know how widespread this is yet.

As someone whom this is actually affecting, your post pisses me off. Sorry.

Yeah, too bad. Now an actual discussion about the issue won't be front and center. Just more Apple apologist bs.

This is my first time using a Force Touch trackpad, but I will say that the gesture recognition seems to be off compared to my mechanical late 2013 MBP. It seems like something they'll definitely be able to fix with a software update, and in fact will need to get right prior to the bezel less iPhone 8.

Bad news after bad news and bad pr. Was trying to make a pop cultural joke :D

Failed miserably

Umm... No...

When I pressed the laugh emoji, a large, evil looking emoji with horns came on the screen surrounded by flames. He let out an evil laugh, and said welcome to H£||. As he was laughing his evil laugh, he said there is no escape.

Suddenly the machine burst into flames and disappeared without even leaving a mark on the table.

I'm never pressing that emoji icon again. He may look innocent, but he's scary :eek:o_O:D

In a small batch of 15' MacBook pros the skin tone color police emojis is not displaying the dark(er) skin tone. This is an outrage that apple needs to address.

Cancelled my order yesterday and feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I'll be skipping this generation. Too many issues all around. Sad times.
I own MacBook Pro 15" 2 days now. Never used that 3 finger thingy, so don't see any problems/issues. So, please, enlighten me about "too many issues". Thanks in advance

A laptop that tops out over $4k should not have so many issues. Yes, this one is relatively minor, but with everything else wrong, this is getting ridiculous.
what exactly wrong with that MBP? care to explain? Because I'm working with it from yesterday morning and didn't see anything serious so far. I like keyboard, screen, touch pad, fast SSD. I miss MagSafe, but it's not as bad as I thought it will be

I just hope this is not going to be typical of future mac releases.

This issue seems very minor, but when it is combined with everything else over the past month, it makes me wonder what is coming next.

It could be a serious issue if it's related to the trackpad hardware. Apple's trackpads have always been world-class, so could this be the first where it's faulty and not fixable by a software/firmware update? Time will tell..

People are equating "different" to mean "problem". You need to wear really thick glasses here in the forums in order to filter out the noise and nonsense.

The MacBook Pro, aside from this one hardware issue (until proven otherwise), is a well-engineered system that pushes the comfort zone until people adjust and adapt.

Has there been a single Apple product in recent memory with this many software-hardware integration problems?

I was also curious to what all these issues are that are so countless lol. Personally loving mine and the only "issue" I've encountered is this three finger drag bug.

Actually... the insult is that the darker emoji only comes with one face, making all users who choose that emoji look the same. And that is the real problem. It would seem that Apple forgot that.

I just got 15 inch MacBook Pro yesterday. I am also facing issue with three finger drag. It is not working some time and it does not some times.

"Many Users State That if Put Your Ear Right Next to the MBP Hinge You Can Hear a Very Faint Squeaking"

I mean, this is a problem, but man. This is sad. Maybe this feature would've gotten more testing if it wasn't tucked away in Accessibility. Who knows at this point.
Holy crap!!! Thank you!!! I thought they did away with it and struggled with different apps trying it back. I would have never EVER thought to look in accessibility for that function. Wow that was stupid!! Why put it there? I just don't get some of Apple's decisions o_O

Three finger drag is not the same thing as gestures. It is using three fingers to drag thing around instead of click and drag.

I stopped using while back when apple decided to make it impossible in El Capitan to enable three finger drag along with double tap hold and drag - whatever that's called. I like to alternate between both. I know it's possible deep down because my MacBook retained its settings from Yosemite to El Capitan until I went in settings there for some other reason and it broke - I have tried all sorts of editing plists etc to bring this back with no luck.

I am having these issues and just Googled the three finger drag to see if it's only supposed to work on the right side. Good to find this post quickly and hope there is a fix. It was disappointing to be trying to drag things around and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Thanks!

Not going to complain myself. With their prices up and no upgrading and whole logic board replacement for problems I'm going to get a Linux or windows machine. After 30 years of Apple products.

Enjoy your Apple computers. Don't need a $2000 machine (base hardware I want and have on a 2009 MacBook Pro) to surf web and edit photos and make office type products.

I use windows every day and not had a problem in 10 years. Apple needs to wake up and realize the are more and more pricing people out. Also with phones and tablets most people don't need an expensive laptop. A truck as Steve Jobs would say.

And I want a touchscreen 2 in 1 computer. Not the iPad Pro or a touch bar. I want to look at and touch the screen like on all of my other devices!

Have a nice day and good luck.

Yeah seriously. Its a huge part of how I navigate around the OS, one of my most used gestures (swiping up and down with three fingers).

Three finger drag is the only reason I don't have carpal tunnel after all my years of being a programmer.

Enough suspense man! Tell us what kind of response! Positive? Negative? Overwhelming neutrality?

GREAT job, Apple. This pairs nicely with the GPU glitching issue.

I've got a one-finger gesture for the entire MacBook 'Pro' team in Cupertino, and for Schiller & Cook...
That would be a thumbs up for a job well done :p

I don't know... the iteration of the Shuffle with no buttons - which most people use their own stay-put earbuds with - still seems like a high water mark of idiocy to me...
Yes, I think that was the fastest pulled Apple product post-2000. The next Shuffle had "buttons" listed as a feature. It's like the satire people always make of Apple. But that's just because it was stupid, not because it was buggy.

I think the 2012 rMBP had more serious issues than this new 2016 model. My dad's coworkers all got them, and half of them had logic board or GPU problems. The one my dad lent me for college has had tons of problems too. It can't control its battery, shuts off randomly, freezes for ~30 second sometimes, has corrupted my OS 3 times already, doesn't seem to cool itself enough (CPU passes 200˚F under load), and has developed very visible and permanent marks on the screen. Part of me is waiting for it to die so I can justify buying a 2015 model, but I'll do it anyway if it ever interrupts my work.
