Umm... There is no way that your MBP is over 2 years old. You said that it is a 17inch and by the pic you have a unibody MBP. The 17in Unibody didn't come out until January 2009.

Am I missing something here?

How the **** does that look like a unibody?

Why not consider the 15 inch badboy?
Whenever I hear someone referring to a piece of metal as their "badboy" I can always know it's you.

Sorry to hear that, I literally shuddered when I saw that. If I were you I'd sell it (you'd still get a fair bit for it) and buy a new MBP. Or replace the screen, either by yourself or from a retailer.

Good luck. Yikes.

It gives it some style, I find. But really, it sucks. I would probably save up and buy a new MBP instead of replacing the screen. It's two-years old, not saying it necessarily obsolete, but if were planning on buying a new one in the near future... this might be a good opportunity.

if you want to fork out the money get a new 17'' the extra battery life will make a difference
otherwise get a 13" cause the only difference between it and the 15" is screen size
i envy you though i'm stuck with a 2006 first model white macbook
this would be a good excuse to have my parents help pay for a new 13"

yeah, you're "missing" the fact i said it was over 2 years old. i know you can read, but your comprehension seems off.

bought the alum mbp august of 2007....which, shockingly enough, is *gasp* over 2 years ago.

That sucks...and I feel your pain. I ran over (w/my car) my 15" MBP a few months back (long story). Apparently my model cost $1k to get fixed, so I just used an external monitor for a few months, saved up and bought a new in box 15" MBP (only 3 days old!) off of eBay for $1750.

ouch!

i would buy a new MBP. if you were happy with the 17-inch, get another 17-inch. sounds like you don't need the portability and that you watch a lot of movies.

good luck whatever you decide.

i've decided i'm just going to sell it.

if ya want it, PM me; make an offer.

here's a pic of what it looks like as the screen is in "use". hopefully i did the right size pics this time via TinyPic....

Can you please stop with the badboy? It's getting annoying, and fast. I often see you talking about your "badboy" when, really, it's not. Chill. Every other thread I read I come across you talking about your badboy. Not your mac. Not your laptop. Your badboy. Im happy you like your laptop but you really need to stop it with the whole bad boy crap, because you sound like your five.

It's my laptop and I worked hard for it so I'll call my badboy whatever I please thank you very much.

How is he really hurting you or anyone else by referring to his MBP as his "Badboy". It's not a big deal okay? I would much rather see his posts than all the negative ranting from people with problems they create on their own but yet come here and literally force us to read their complaints as if it's our problem as well it's theirs.

Thanks.

TIMG rescales the image. It doesn't produce an actual thumbnail, so it doesn't save bandwidth or page load time at all. It just saves everyone from viewing an oversized image.

</random FYI>

Beat me to it!

Haha yeah I see this in every other thread to I just laugh because at least I know I'm not that emotinally attached to my inanminate object to call it a badboy. He's proably sub 14, which I think would explain a lot.
