It looks ok. I would suggest you keep it as a portable desktop. Buy a monitor and use it with that.

If you really would like a new Mac, still try to see if you can keep it. You never know when a spare/extra Mac can come in handy. At least, many people have used their old iBooks or PowerBooks when facing problems of this magnitude (or worse)

Crap that must suck!

Anyway, get a new one because the extra money will be worth it :D

A guy at my school tripped up once and fell over this guy on the couch who was using his MB. The screen cracked :(

you may be able to pick up a nice refurb on the applestore, i know ive seen a few 17" refurbed previous unibodies for under 1999 ~ 1899 and then you can probably sell your current one for a decent price...dependson your interest or if you wan to get a unibody which may come at the same price

Call it whatever you want, but it sure does look silly.
Not to all of us.

In the early days of the Mac, it was common to name your Macs.

So if I call my MBP15 "George", "Big Mama" or "Hot Stuff" no one would think that was odd.

I guess times have changed.

It's my laptop and I worked hard for it so I'll call my badboy whatever I please thank you very much.

please listen to what people are saying, it's horrible doesn't read right and frankly very childish.

at the OP - really sorry I hope you can get a reasonable amount for it. Have you looked at any local Apple repair shops?

I don't think it's naming that is the problem it's his/her insistence on ONLY saying that. Thread after thread post after post, get a badboy get a badboy get a badboy. arggghhh!
:)

Yo! The title was so funny!

I am sorry about your screen but the title of this thread had me laughing so hard!

I hope all is well! Sorry to post without help but the title was really crazy!

I hope you have some type of warranty, insurance, and that Apple willing to help!

wanna know whats more hilarious than calling your laptop badboy? getting upset over someone else calling their laptop badboy..:D:apple::p:eek::confused::rolleyes::eek::D:p:)

I don't know about you, but the shape, style, and glow is completely different...

Was just playing devils advocate as to why they might have thought that, will admit that was my thought at first till I looked again and noticed there wasn't enough space between the keys etc.

So true. What business is it of anyone elses if I'm proud of my machine?

What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;

Not true. No one cares if you call your laptop badboy. Good for you. But stop referring to it as badboy in everybother thread. Please, just leave it in you signature... Because people get the idea

Nobody really cares that you got a decent MBP. Stop telling everyone on every single thread, it's getting quite boring now. Just keep your lovely names for your gadgets to yourself please.

Also if it's nobody's business, stop telling us then.

Just out of curiosity, what makes this kid's 15" mbp a "badboy"??

I mean, I'm sure many here have far more powerful mbp's...me being one of them.

It's his nickname for it. Some other people have nicknames for their machines (myself included) but I don't go to the extent that this guy does....

bit
