Do we think it will be announced tomorrow, or launched tomorrow?

I recall reading somewhere once that it may be a 8.4 release but I wonder if they'll hold back for iOS9. I hope not!

It's true though. I know I don't care. I play music locally. I see no use in streaming music. Just buy a copy (online or disk), sync it with your iDevice and boom. You own your music when you buy it. You don't have that when you stream it.

Yes, because clearly no one cares because YOU don't care... Because everyone has the same thoughts and needs as yourself...

Stop being deluded please.

Why wait? if they got the contracts done and it looks like they are revamping the music app in 8.4, then release it. Why give Spotify, etc more time to lure customers. Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if spotify offers a 1 year subscription to keep people with their service if Apple waits for iOS 9 release.

I do, and now you know. For me, it is simple convenience.. I do not have to use up my data every time I want to listen to songs. It is that simple for me. I pay once, download the song, and use it on any device I want, and don't care if I have internet or not.

This new streaming service may be good for a lot of people, and Spotify and many others are there to vouch for it, but streaming is just not for me. Or it may be that I am aloof to the advantages of streaming.. any which way, I can't seem to digest the data requirements for streaming and hence do not think it is worth it, for me.

I currently use 1GB on the iPhone and it is enough for when I move out of office. I do not even have to care if I am getting a reliable high speed connection, as long as mails come through. With streaming, if I have to listen to music, I will have to have a connection that is active, and would it not consume more battery in that case?

I have an unlimited internet supply at home, and office, and can maybe use streaming in such instances, but what about the times when there is service disruption? Simply means music disruption, no? Am I missing something here about the concept of 'streaming music'?

It's funny the work flow you mention. Because I use the same with Spotify. I find a song I like, I hit download and it saves it on my phone/laptop so I never have to stream it again. So the big thing you are missing is Spotify allows for songs to be stored offline.

The thing is I can listen and explore songs while I'm on wifi and save them to an offline album later. I can also listen to any song unlimited amounts of times.

What I think is annoying about owning a song, is I never get a chance to test drive a song out for a few days before pulling the trigger.. It's either buy and listen or preview 30 seconds on iTunes (or YouTube it). So I believe streaming brings a lot more freedom in the exploration and discovery of music, while still being allowed to download music for offline consumption.

Cant wait for this big new music model from Apple, they've held off for long enough to build something huge I'm sure. I can't see anyone competing with Apple once they drop this.

You'll see spotify fighting tooth & nail until they go out of business. the only thing that will give spotify a fighting chance is if Apple goes US only. If Apple goes US only, I Can see spotify go on an worldwide advertising blitz to promote they are offered worldwide where Apple is only US only.

Am I the only one here who isn't looking forward to 20 minutes of Apple Watch & Apple Stores statistics and then another 30+ minutes dedicated to this music service?
spend less time here getting ''spoilers'' 24/7 then. ;)

This just shows how deluded and out-of-touch some users in here can be... Like dude, do you live in a cave?
Perhaps lots of us live in caves. Or think 10 bucks a month is (takes off socks to aid multiplication) hmm quite a lot per year. Subscription services are insidious, Adobe loves them, M$ is starting to love them, Apple appears now to love them too. When I tried to 'upgrade' to the latest Photos app it very quickly explained how much it wanted me to pay every month to keep 36 pictures of my cat, I declined, I still have the cat, I can take another picture of her tomorrow.

I have the music I bought. Podcasts still exist (no really they still do and they are FREE). I'm never going to sign up for a daily/weekly/monthly/annual fee for listening to music not at 10 a month, 5 a month or 2 a month.

The reason streaming subscriptions have become popular with companies is because they make more money out of them, which means they are worse for you Mr Joe Consumer. If that's what it costs to consume music, I will stop consuming it.

Just because he doesn't stream, it doesn't mean he's in delusional state.
I know a few people who stream for free, some pay for it, I sometimes do, but most of my music are offline.

It's an offensive word to state someone as such when he's using his device differently than yours.

mobilesryup.com (canada mobile news/blog site) is saying it will start in August & only in the US & Australia. UK, Canada later when the licensing agreements are worked out.

If this is the case, I will be very unhappy that Canada doesn't get it day 1. Wouldn't be surprised though.

And now i stand corrected! apple is gonna make dent in the universe with "another music streaming service" with new revolutiinary feature: it wont be free. Right?;)

I don't think I know one person who buys music downloads. Everybody is streaming.

I pretty much only listen to music while I'm bored on a plane or on my car radio. If I only did streaming, not only would I have to pay for a subscription I would have to pay for GoGo inflight wifi, too. No thanks. When I listen to music I listen to specific songs I like, not random songs even if they are from an artist I generally like. I learn about new music when I have the radio on in the car or from a movie (like I did with some songs from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.) The movie was crap but it had some really nice music in it :p

Streaming is important for the youngsters but there are plenty of people who still want to own specific songs on their iPhone that don't require data access to hear.

It's true because you don't care about streaming music? That's not how truth works.

Meh. I would never use Apple for my music streaming because unlike everyone else they refuse to be cross platform and in particular they refuse to support android at all.

if you've been paying attention (which you based on your post, you haven't) Apple Music is expected to be available on Android. We'll see tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to stellar new OS X & iOS releases! And hopefully some other unknown surprises!

While I'm certainly not interested in the iWatch stuff, the Apple Music is definitely something I'm interested in. While I'm not in this category, you have to keep in mind that some people aren't interested in the OS X and iOS stuff either and prefer Apple to put forth time in the Apple TV instead, so to each his own.

We've reached the point at which there's nothing left for Apple to do it's primary lines of business except a minor tweak, join the crowd and promote the heck out of it. Mostly visible when cars do it. Square Mercedes and square BMW's become curvy Japanese autos. Why? Because the buyers apparently in fact do buy more whenever there is a "change" no matter what the change is.

The problem is that "managed change" becomes the mantra rather than "usability". "How can we change our cereal box to be different, not better."

Under Steve Jobs, a reveal in advance of the keynote would have meant a broken partnership with Sony. The employee who revealed on Instagram would have been fired instantly as well.

"The times they are a changin'."
How long have you truly been an Apple customer, or are you one at all? There have been multiple pre-reveals of MacWorld and WWDC under Jobs' time at Apple. I have no idea why some people think Apple was any different in terms of leaks getting out when Jobs was on board. And you just don't break a relationship with a major corporation such as Sony just because they leaked out information one day before the show. Do you realize how many major case manufacturers revealed the iPhone and iPod products weeks before the keynote? Do you truly think Jobs cut their relationship with Apple because of it? Come on.

My taste in music is so eclectic (scattered and random) that any kind of channel doesn't deliver what I actually want to hear. Also, I prefer to listen to the entire album at once, rather than the top singles.

The real customer of streaming music are the people who still like listening to the radio.
